No Way Out
For as long as she could remember she had been running, running for all this time with no friend or teammate in sight.
I'm not even quite sure how to get out of here…
She had tried to find multiple ways to escape from this place, but they had all ended in failure. Each and every one thing that helped to build her hopes was instantly crushed. And then there was the creature, for that had been what she had begun to call it. Each day it chased her tirelessly, causing her to never get an ounce of sleep.
Simmons touched the burning scratch on her forehead as she hid behind the stone wall. Only a little one and yet it burned… She scooped up some of the dirt, putting it on the injury despite risking making it infected, which helped to dampen the pain a bit.
I need to escape… to keep running…
But it suddenly felt like she couldn't, like she knew that her body needed a rest despite being in the situation that she was in. She had to get back, no matter how long it took her.
Maybe it'll just give up? Despite all the times she had thought the same thing, she knew it wouldn't happen. The creature didn't need any sleep or food that she knew of, its pursuit of her tireless.
She huddled up against the rock when she heard it snarl, making a savage noise, taunting her that it knew where she was. She desperately wished she could sink into the rock and rest for a moment but she knew that wasn't the case.
I need to keep going…
And yet, despite her instincts, she glanced out from behind her hiding spot, looking for the creature. Maybe if she could see it just once, then she could find ways to avoid it…
Sure enough, the darkness of the night hid the creature well, not allowing her to catch any little detail. She sighed in frustration, before pulling back and glancing around the area again, seeking her next hiding spot and where to run. The mountains just seemed to continue on…
She took off again, despite her body demanding rest, her breaths coming haggard. She had to find a way back, not only for her sake but for theirs.
They need to know this…
So she would keep running, as long as it took, and desperately hoping that her team was still looking for her as well, that they hadn't given up hope just yet.
They're all waiting for me; Fitz is waiting for me…
So this was inspired by Season 3 Episode 1's ending and I just figured that I had to write it. I am so psyched for the rest of the season as well! :) Did anyone else watch it? Even though this isn't very descriptive and just a brief copy of the end, please let me know what you all thought. :)
