Glancing back and forth between Sora and the wall, Kairi dragged the rock carefully across the stone, sparks coming to life just as the many spikes of her friend's hair began to form. She concentrated, making sure to get them as close to the real thing as she could, but she also tried to put as much emotion into the cave drawing as detail. With a smile of her own, she gave the picture her friend the Sora trademark smile. Not perfect, but...

Kairi opened her eyes and stretched. It was storming – nothing new – and, somehow, she felt that her dream was important. Don't forget, a voice whispered to her. Never forget. To forget is to give in. Her head tilted to the side. In a corner of her room, two yellow eyes were peering at her from almost-perfect black. "Wh…at?"

She sat up, awake. Was what she saw… another dream? It felt as though everything, even the dream of a dream, had been real. The young girl rubbed her eyes and grabbed for her lucky charm, but it was nowhere to be found. She almost panicked, until her thoughts began to kick back in. That's right. Sora has it. Another smile appeared on her lips as she thought back to not-so-very long ago.

The three had been on a tree, looking out at the ocean with all the time in the world. As long as she had her friends, she knew she'd be happy. Kairi grabbed her pillow from the head of her bed and hugged it to herself. It was storming awfully bad outside.

Just as she laid down to sleep, Kairi swore she saw two yellow eyes peeking over the ledge of her window.
