In honor of ScissorsroidLuka~ winner of the 'Some People Go Insane And Others Will Murder You' 150th review contest- a short Turkey/Ukraine one-shot, and happy new years to all! Special thanks to Spain and Austria~

It was December 31st, and the party was going at a top pace. America had invited everyone he knew, and set up a huge television, so they could all watch the ball drop together. Everyone was mingling, and chatting.

"Yes, I do owe little brother money, but I'm fine." Ukraine informed Japan, a smile never leaving her face. They didn't notice Turkey sneak up to scare Japan.

"Boo!" the masked man whispered in the shorter man's ear. The man jumped slightly, but shook his head and walked off, leaving him to talk to Ukraine. The man blushed deep red when he saw her, being slightly captivated. She was beautiful. Time to turn on his charm. He tapped her on the shoulder, and she turned, a bright smile on her face.

"Hi, Turkey! Happy new year!" she looked at him, and couldn't help to want to pull the mask off his face.

"Hello, Ukraine. Happy new year to you, too." Ukraine blushed slightly, not quite sure how to make conversation. They really didn't talk that much, but honestly, she wouldn't mind getting to know him.

"How are you?" she always asked this, she was the type who was genuinely worried about everyone. Even France.

"I'm good, and yourself?" turkey couldn't help but to think about new years. Who would this girl be kissing, because hell, he was going to be really damn jealous.

"Oh, I've been good. I've had some troubles, paying Russia back… but a new years wishes could come true, right?" she had her hopes up, the Turk could see it with the glimmer in her eyes.

"Yeah…" the Turk yawned, slightly embarrassed about doing so. "I'm usually not up this late… its already 11:55…" he covered up yet another yawn. Ukraine nodded.

"I guess I'm not either…" she looked at him sort of awkwardly, her head tilted. Like she wanted to ask something, but wasn't going to. Turkey thought it was really cute. And the question popped into his head again. Who was her New Year kiss?

"Sooo…." He looked around awkwardly, not sure how to ask, "Who is the special someone that gets your new years kiss?" he hopped he didn't sound odd when he asked, or stalkerish. The girl blushed, embarrassed.

"I honestly don't have anyone at the moment…" this shocked him. She was lying to him, right?

"But a pretty girl like you? Surely you must…" he said quickly, hopping that if she wasn't lying, then he could swoop her into one by the end of the night.

"N-no I don't…" why did Turkey want to know? And why did she want to pull that mask off so badly? She giggled at his slightly confused face, when America's obnoxious voice yelled over the crowd.

"ONE MINUTE NOW PEOPLE, GET READY NOW!" both flinched a bit at the voice. Neither of them was extremely fond of America, like England or Japan was. The crowd started the countdown when Ukraine thought of something.

"TEN NINE EIGHT SEVEN…"

"Turkey, will you be my midnight kiss?" she looked into his eyes, pleading.

"SIX FIVE FOUR THREE TWO…"

At the stroke of midnight, in a split second decision, turkey pulled Ukraine into a passionate kiss, fireworks going off in the shapes of red hearts and yellow stars. Or, at least that's what the two thought. Eventually ending the kiss, Ukraine smiled into his eyes and pulled off his mask, whispering…

"Happy new year."

"Happy new year, Ukraine."

I hope you all liked it. I know it doesn't have a large fan base, but I hope you review. Thanks!
