James Potter roamed Hogwarts as if he were the very king of England. And he might as well have been. Girls practically crawled upon him, boys were so jealous they tried to poison him, and the professors all loved him deep down in their hearts.

But James did not have the one thing he'd give it all up for…Lily Evans. She was the most beautiful creature he had ever laid his eyes on. Her smile was priceless, her laugh was gold, and her voice was that of an angel.

James' palms began to sweat rapidly as he prepared to ask Lily out to Hogsmeade. He had followed Lily's instructions very carefully. He'd apologized to Snivelly (for the moment haha) and he had even asked Sirius and Remus to lay off of him for awhile, he had studied for his Transfiguration exam, and had even apologized to Slughorn for tripping him down the stairs.

"Lily," James squeaked. She eyed him with curious yet awaiting eyes. "Lily Evans, I believe you owe me a date."

"I'm not completely sure I owe you anything," Lily said rather harshly. James gulped and wiped his sweaty hands on his cloak. "But since you have been acting rather kind…and undoubtedly charming, I suppose I can accompany you to Hogsmeade this week. That is, if you want to go still."

"Of course I do!" James spluttered. "Lily Evans, I'd go anywhere with you, madam."
