Summary: Even though she has a tight grip on reality, she can't let go of this feeling.
Character Dynamics: CereCere ( Sailor Ceres )
A/N: During the time of the Dead Moon Circus. Therefore, CereCere and her teammates currently form the Amazoness Quartetto and are under Queen Nehellenia and Zirconia's influence. Also, just a warning, this drabble is a tad short.
Zirconia's gravelly voice whispers against the edge of her conscious, but slipping back into the dream world is much easier than following the ringleader's nagging orders. Fisting the fabric of her bedding in a drowsy gesture, CereCere ensnares her lithe body even further into the rumpled, welcoming sheets. In her soporific state, she allows the haze of her thoughts to thicken as she delves deeper into her somnolent trance.
A master trapeze artist among a circus of divine freaks, CereCere has certainly experienced many abnormal scenarios. Although she may have moments where she's acted decidedly blunt, merely grazing the surface of matters, her mind can't help but stray from all rational thought and attempt to decipher her most recent dreams. Lately, her tired allusions have shattered against the impact of the circus life. The fragments of peculiar sentiments that linger from fading dreams lodge into her waking thoughts and she cannot help but feel as if she's losing something. She's unable to identify with the feelings that distort the barrier between the dream world and reality, but she knows that the promise of sleep offers her happiness that is undeniably more golden than the legendary crystal Queen Nehellenia is hell bent on finding. But is it really so bad to want to sleep in, to indulge in the pleasurable sentiments that this escape offers her? Maybe she's becoming a glutton for sleep, but deep in her soul she knows that these nightly visions are the only clues to what her life must have been like before she and her sisters began to travel with the sadistic Dead Moon Circus.
Before the nightmares.
"Girls! Wake up, now! Queen Nehellenia will not stand for this!" Resting her head on crossed arms, she groans against her flesh as Zirconia's willowy hands tear the warmth of her sheets from her body.
It's a shame that it's all a dream. Because, even though she has a tight grip on reality, she can't let go of the fact that there used to be something more to her life. Buried beneath the hype of being a performer and hiding underneath the thrill of bashing souls out of the innocent, a realization is thriving within her. She just hasn't figured it out yet.
A/N: Although Super S is admittedly not my favorite season of Sailor Moon, the Amazoness Quartetto intrigues me. I couldn't help but think that these girls have to have some sort of sense that the Dead Moon Circus is all a sham they're being forced into.
So you read it... Like it? Hate it? Love it? Flame it? Let me know in a review! (:
