Another Dimension

"Everybody OK? Anyone injured?"

"If the shock could be called injury, yes, everyone is injured."

"Colonel Williams, what is happening?"

"I also want to ask the same thing, Commander Mason."

Williams and Mason then stand up, moments later their staffs also doing the same thing.

"That was the biggest shock I ever receive. Where are we?" Ask Mason while he rubbing most his body.

"Test, test. 1..2..3..anyone, respond."

Mason and Williams then turn around and see that their superior is calling them through their computer.

"This is Colonel Amelia Williams, I responding to your call. What is happening, General Blackwood?"

"I can't explain that. I do however, have a man who could explain that."

A man then appear beside Blackwood. He looks like Einstein but young, black hair instead of white, and doesn't have a moustache.

"Good afternoon, I am Dr. Karl Steiner. You are Colonel Amelia Williams, leader of Global Defense Initiative Second Fleet, I presume?" The man introduce himself as Dr. Steiner.

"Yes, Doctor. Could you explain what is happening?" Ask Williams with an annoyed tone.

"Do you want the long or simple explanation?"

"The simple one." Mason answer it which make him earning a glare from Williams.

"The entire Second Fleet, along with some of GDI's satellites, is at another universe." Steiner's explanation then get some shocked faces.

"Doctor, are you sure?" Ask Mason because Steiner's explanation is something you can find in sci-fiction show.

"Really? There was an invasion on Earth by an alien called Scrin, a crystalline material called Tiberium, which, during our first encounter with it, was almost impossible. And now, you are questioning about multiverse?" Ask Steiner back also with a shocked face.

"Well, fair point, I guess." Answer Mason with somewhat an embarrassed tone.

"Anyway, is there a way for us to go back to our universe?" Asked Williams who seems trying to change the subject.

"Yes, we can. The machine that makes you go to another universe is still intact, which is why we could contact you, but..." Explain Steiner with now a worried face.

"But?" Ask Mason. He and Williams could tell something isn't right.

How right they are.

"Most of the machine is destroyed, unstable, doesn't have enough energy. Well, short version, it will take time until we could bring the entire Second Fleet along with some satellites back. Now, we can only talk and send and receive something small." Steiner is sure that right now, both Mason and Williams, is giving him "When I return, I'll kill you" glare.

"Commander, Colonel, your attention, please!" Command Blackwood. Mason and Williams then turn their attention to Blackwood.

"Due to the circumstances, Colonel Williams and Commander Mason will be in charge and have full responsibility of Global Defense Initiative's Second Fleet situations. I advise that both of you discuss the situation with us first before doing something. But that's optional. Blackwood out." After the briefing, Blackwood then cut the communication, leaving two heavily shocked officers.

"I though we.."

"We are, Commander. Right now, we just out from the chain of command."

"Why..."

"Do you know how troublesome it is if we still use THAT chain of command in this kind of situation?"

"So..."

"Right now, we are the highest in chain of command, and please, no more question, Commander."

"Roger that, ma'am."

Williams and Mason then travel around their Global Stratospheric Transport (GST), Aquarius. On they journey, they meet one of GDI top scientist and IT guy, Doctor Edward Watt.

"Dr. Watt, I want to inform you that"...

"We are at another universe, I already hear that, Commander." Watt cut Mason line and finish it himself.

"How did you know, Doctor?" Ask Williams with a confused tone and face.

" I have my own ways, Colonel." Answer Watt. Mason could swear that Watt is planning a bug at Command Center, again.

"So, any idea what should we do now, Doctor?" Ask Mason with an annoyed tone.

"How about we perform an expedition on this Earth? This Earth is quite amazing." Watt suggestion make Williams and Mason to go to the Observation Deck ASAP.

When they reach the Observation Deck, they're shocked for their discovery. The Earth is normal, perhaps. After living too much time with Tiberium, they forget how Earth looks like without Tiberium.

"Wow, it's so..."

"Beautiful." Williams finished Mason's words while both are still amazed by the beauty of normal Earth.

"You ladies finish, 'amazed'?" Ask Watt, his words then wake both officers from their daydream.

"Yeah, well, anyway, you're right. We should do some expeditions on this Earth." Said Mason with an excited face and tone. He really want some "unknown and maybe dangerous" adventure.

Williams is thinking for a second before she said her opinion. "Under my permission, I allow the expedition. Dr. Watt, can you and your team hack their satellites and find as much information as possible, if they have one?"

"Of course, it'll be a piece of cake. I hope." Watt is now praying to any gods he knows because if he fails...no, he didn't even want to think what will happen.

5 hours later

"Piece of cake, huh?" Ask/mock Mason.

"IT IS piece of cake. When I try to hack into Nod database, it took me 3 months just to breach it's first firewall." Watt defend his statement against Mason mock. If Mason is an IT guy, he would know that 5 hours of breaching most, if not all firewalls in Earth is amazing.

"How did you be able to do that? This Earth, not Nod." Ask Williams with an amazed face. She's not and IT guy, or girl in her case, but she knows that is an amazing achievement.

"Well, two reasons. First, firewalls in, let's say Earth 2.0 because we can't keep calling it 'this Earth', is primitive if compared to ours. Second, I became one of GDI top scientist and IT guy not for nothing." Explain Watt with an arrogant face.

"So, what did you find?" Ask Mason while at the same time make sure that Watt is not being too arrogant. Last thing he need is Watt become too Arrogant and then, he kick Watt to the space.

"People who live in Earth 2.0 live in late 20th to Early 21st century lifestyle. They doesn't have Tiberium, which you might already know. And some other rubbish which will I send later to you, but what caught my attention, is this." After the explanation, Watt shows the officers some sort of exoskeleton.

"What is that?" Ask Mason with confused tone.

"This, my good Commander, is Infinite Stratos, abbreviated IS. They are powered exoskeletons, which were originally meant for out space exploration. IS is designed by a woman named Tabane Shinonono. IS posses technology and combat capabilities far more advanced than any other weapon system Earth 2.0 has." Explain Watt. The tone of his voice hinted that he's amazed for what humans of Earth 2.0 is capable of without Tiberium.

"Why would something created for space exploration has a combat capabilities?" Ask Mason.

"Perhaps, just in case they encounter Scrin?" Joke Watt. Mason and Williams give him a glare for his joke. As a veteran of Scrin Invasion of Earth, both know what Scrin is capable of.

"Tell me more about IS!" Command Williams.

"First, the history. When the IS was first proposed it was scoffed at and few people paid it any attention. A month later, a 'mysterious' hacker hacked the military missile bases and ships all over Earth 2.0 launching 2341 ballistic and cruise missiles towards all major cities in Japan. This world's first and only IS sortied and neutralized 1221 of the missiles with a sword and shot down the rest with energy weapons -something no country in this world had the technology of producing."

Watt can see that the officers are amazed. But not really that amazed. If you have the entire GDI arsenal in your...well, arsenal, IS is not something amazing. Watt then remember that GDI too have their own powered exoskeleton, Zone Armour. He will have an experiment after he got everything he need.

"Back on the track. This IS was later code named 'White Knight'. It was attacked by several major world powers seeking to capture or destroy it. The White Knight fended off its attackers, destroying 207 next gen fighter aircraft in the process, as well as disabling 7 aircraft carriers and their naval escorts. It also destroyed 8 weaponized military spy satellites. There's no human casualties, fortunately."

"Talk about overkill." Comment Mason.

"With this kind of weapon, Why I have a feeling that there's some sort of treaty for this thing?" Ask/state Williams about IS.

"You are right, Colonel. There's a treaty called 'Alaska Treaty', which stated that the IS would never be used for military combat and that existing IS technology must be equally distributed to all nations, to prevent any one nation for dominating the others." Watt respond to Williams question while adding some explanation.

"I can understand the latter, but the former is disturbing. Why a weapon that is as powerful, if not more, than a nuclear is prohibited for use in combat?! Think about it, if one IS equals an army, nations that's in war could just send a dozen of IS pilots instead of a hundreds of thousand, maybe even millions of troops." Mason's statement do have a point.

Although IS could end a lot of lives, it could also save a lot of lives.

"You do have a point, Commander. We'll find it out later. Anymore information, Dr. Watt?" After she agreed with Mason's statement, Williams ask Watt for more information.

"Well, this one is funny. IS can only be operated by women, making the power balance between men and women is broken, with women coming to dominate society over men. And I know what you want to say, it's make the weapon one of the stupidest weapon in the world." The face Mason and Williams shows hinted that they are agree with that.

Creating something that can only be operated by one gender makes the weapon can't be used by other gender. Thus, if some kind of situation, like when there's only men available happen, problems will rose within a second.

"There's still more information I can tell, like features/characteristics, components, forms, types, and generation category of IS, but I'll just send you the data. It'll be too long and we don't have that much time. Any questions?" After he give the last explanation about IS, Mason raise his hand a little bit.

"So, this thing can only be piloted by women?" Mason knows it's unbelievable, but with Scrin, Tiberium, Nod's ascension, he just want to make sure of it.

"Ah, now that you mention it, I remember." Watt then start typing his keyboard, and then a photo of Japanese man appears with his profile.

"This is Ichika Orimura, or Orimura Ichika if you use Japanese name style. He's Earth 2.0 first and only male who could pilot an IS." When Watt see Mason and Williams face, instead of an interested face, they face look more like a face that meet a familiar face.

"Why he's face look familiar?" Ask Williams to anyone.

"Perhaps because..." Both Mason and Williams eyes widened after a few seconds. Williams then reach her radio (not really sure what kind of communication device GDI use to replace radio, if they have one) and start contacting someone.

"Major James Orimura, I order you to come to Laboratory, ASAP!" Command Williams.

"Affirmative, ma'am." Replied Orimura through the radio.

Few moments later, Orimura is entering the lab. When Williams and Mason compare Ichika with Orimura, the only physical difference between them is age. While Ichika is 16, Orimura is 23 years old.

"Wow, that's my doppelganger in this universe?" Said Orimura with a surprised tone.

"How did you know that we at other universe?" Ask Mason.

"I am here when Colonel and you, Commander speaking with Gen. Blackwood, remember?" Answer/ask Orimura with a "really?" face.

"Ah, yes. Anyway, what do you think about this Orimura?" Ask Williams while at the same time trying to change the subject.

Orimura then inspect Ichika's profile and watch some videos about his training and combats that Watt manage to get. Orimura then took a breath.

"While his skill is good, he lacks an experience, obviously. Also, he tends to 'overprotect' his friends. Although it's good, he sometimes really need to let them defending on their own. I have seen many people fallen because of this 'overprotect'." After he stated his opinion, Orimura hung his head and shook it, indicating that he thinks Ichika is a "blasted idiot".

"It's normal for an inexperienced people. Beside, this Earth 2.0 standard must be different from GDI standard." Stated Mason while at the same time defend the "blasted idiot".

"Sorry, too many times and experience in military is taking its toll. I couldn't, however, deny one thing. That kid has potential." In his last sentence, Orimura spoke it with glad and confident tone. It's a relieve for him to know that his doppelganger is not fully "blasted idiot".

"While you ladies is gossiping, I found something that you would like." Said Watt.

"What is it?" Ask Williams.

"An hour ago, I contact Dr. Steiner and asked him what does he needed to fix his machine. He gave me the list of everything he needed and I found a place where we can get most of it, which consist of ores that they can turn to metals." Replied Watt.

"What?! Where?!" Ask Mason.

"In in the island near Japan. Now we have a good news and bad news." Stated Watt.

"Good one first." Command Williams.

"The good news is that the island uninhabited and all nations, including Japan, does not pay any attention to this island. I'll go directly to the bad news, IS Academy, abbreviated ISA, is paying attention to this island because this island is close to their location. Not really close, but you could call it 'close'. Phantom Task is also watching this island, perhaps because it could create a perfect stepping stone when they want to invade ISA." Explain Watt.

"Phantom Task?" Ask Orimura.

"Phantom Task is an underground organization who hid themselves in the shadows. They revealed themselves recently during the IS Academy's anniversary, not going to explain when. It was a group notorious for stealing IS from all over the world and equipping them with deadly pilots that will kill other IS pilots." Replied Watt.

"In other words, terrorist organization." Stated Mason.

"Right, Commander. So in other words, we need to keep our eyes to both ISA and Phantom Task." Replied Watt.

"I have a suggestion. What about if we launch a preemptive strike against Phantom Task?" Suggest Orimura. His suggestion surprised both Mason and Williams.

"I'll agree with that. Phantom Task has been too long terrorizing the world. It managed to stay in the shadows because countries who lost their IS's to them refused to announce their losses, as it would put them on a disadvantageous position to rival countries. Another reason for concealing the loss of an IS, is that it would inflict a heavy loss on the national defense side. Thus nobody in Earth 2.0 would reveal that their IS's got stolen. It's time for someone to serve them some justice." Watt tone indicate that he wants GDI to attack Phantom Task with its full military power.

"Then I'll approve it as well. But, do we know where Phantom Task is hiding?" Ask Williams after he approve the strike.

"I found one. It's somewhere in Antarctica, I'll give you the coordinates later. Looks like they run out of good IT guy or girl because I manage to breakthrough. I couldn't find any other bases, however." Replied Watt.

"It's more than we need to give them a message. Commander Robert Mason, your primary objective is to scorched earth that place. Your secondary objectives is to gather as many IS's and intel you can get." Command Williams to her Second-in-command.

"Affirmative, Colonel." Mason then turn around and exit the lab.

"Let me guess. We gather the IS's so we can find out more about it?" Ask/guess Orimura.

"You're right, Major. As for you, your mission is to establish a defense force and mine in that island. You will begin your mission after Commander's strike force return. You may be young, but you already prove your skills during the Ascension Conflict. " Command Williams to Orimura

"Roger, Colonel." With that, Orimura exit the lab.

"What about me?" Ask Watt.

"I want you to hack any surveillance technology Earth 2.0 has and make sure its turn blind side on us. I also want you to find more information." Command Williams to Watt.

"Of course, Colonel." Watt then turn around and start working.

Williams then exit the lab and start walking to her office. After everything that happened today, she deserve some rest.

Guten tag,

I am sorry if there's something wrong like grammar, metaphor, fact about C&C or IS, etc. Because it's only a prologue, some parts are still too "blurry".

GDI Second Fleet is not exist when I am looking at it in Command & Conquer Wiki. I just think "GDI must have more than one fleet." The reason is because GDI is global government so they must have power to create another fleet.

About the island, the scenario is that GDI Second Fleet found that the island contains ores that they can send to their universe. In their universe, GDI main forces can change it to metal and use it to fix Steiner's machine.

My OC, Major James Orimura is just for fun. By the way, Orimura's full name is James I. Orimura. Guess what "I" stand for?

I got the idea of Ichika being called "blasted idiot" from Chifuyu's quote: "Ichika...you're the worst kind of an idiot!"

If you want more details about something, fell free to ask me. Review please
