"I underestimated you, Warden. I thought you were like Cailan, a child wanting to play at war. I was wrong. There's a strength in you I've not seen since Maric died. I yield," were the first kind words that Kallian had heard from Loghain. This statement was the reason that she accepted his yield and let him join her party.
This action caused much unrest from her other friends, but she stood firm on her decision. Over the next few weeks, she gained a high respect for Loghain as a person, especially when he saved her life multiple times from darkspawn.
They were 3 days from the final battle for Ferelden, hiding out in the Arl of Redcliffe's castle. Kallian knocked on Loghain's bedroom door to bring him dinner. He had missed many meal times to avoid awkwardness with her friends. Wynne hated him, and the others were simply mistrustful of him for good reason. Alistair had left when she allowed Loghain to live, and he didn't want her to lose any more friends, so he kept his distance.
Loghain opened the door a crack to see who it was. He let out a small smile when he saw the beautiful little elf standing in the entrance with a tray of food. "Hello Warden," he greeted her simply. Kallian was the strongest woman he had ever known, and he was always working to atone for his treatment of her before she put him through the Joining. She was so different from his wife – his wife was blonde, snobby and indifferent. Kallian had fire-red hair that hung down to her waist, ice blue eyes and she was kind, warm and she was one of the best dual-blade warriors he had ever seen. He had always been faithful to his wife, mostly because he was always too busy to fall into another woman's bed, but Kallian stirred up feelings in him that he hadn't felt since long ago.
"Hey Loghain. May I come in? I brought you dinner. You need to eat once in a while."
Loghain smiled. The elf was too young for him, but he wanted her more than he could even express. He knew that she would never accept him, as he had hurt her and her family so many times. "Of course Warden. Your company is always a pleasure."
Kallian grinned. Even with the impending battle coming, she liked to talk to Loghain. After Alistair left, he was the only one who understood what being a Grey Warden is like. Even though he did everything he could to kill her in the beginning, she respected and liked him.
Loghain ushered her inside his chambers and closed the door. She placed the tray on the table that he had documents spread out on. "I apologize Warden. As regent for my daughter, I hardly have time for myself." He piled the parchments on a corner of his desk.
"Well, as long as you have time for me," she said teasingly.
He laughed softly, raising a glass of wine to her. "I always have time for you." He gazed at her so intensely that she flushed and looked away.
She gazed down into her bowl of soup. Why did she get such pleasure from his words? Her heart always melted when he talked to and fed her mabari hound at their campsite. She loved that dog and she loved that he took the time out of his day to interact with him.
"I have been meaning to ask you something Warden for a long while. Urien was in mourning for his son Vaughan at Ostagar, and I happened to hear a rumour that Vaughan's last moments were with you. Care to explain?"
Kallian coughed awkwardly. She didn't like to relive those moments when she was still inside the Alienage. She loved her family, but the times were hard. "Ah, well, Vaughan and his lackey's came to the Alienage and kidnapped some of the women, including myself on the eve of my wedding. He wanted to have his way with us, so I killed him and all his friends."
Loghain's expression changed drastically enough to make Kallian take notice. "Did he touch you?" His voice was low and murderous.
"No, it never got that far."
He nodded. "That boy was always a lecherous prick. He was a fool around the human serving girls, but the elven women…" he hesitated.
Kallian put up her hand. "I don't need to know more. That's how we lived under our human lords."
Loghain wouldn't meet her eyes. "The cruelty you have endured from the humans, and from me…I cannot apologize enough."
She gave him a sad smile. "It's okay Loghain. You have done everything you could to make it up to me."
He stood up suddenly and started to pace around the room. "It is not okay. I sold your family and friends into slavery. I have hurt you and your people more than I can ever imagine. I am no better than Vaughan."
Kallian stood up in front of him, grabbed his arm and forced him to look at her. "Let's not dwell on the past Loghain. What's done is done."
Loghain stared down at the gorgeous elf. She was so strong, so resilient. He was bewitched by her since the first moment he laid eyes on her in Ostagar. Perhaps that was why he tried so hard to have her killed. Even now he had to fight his feelings for her. "Kallian."
Her heart skipped a beat. He hardly ever used her name, and she loved the sound of it on his tongue. "Please don't beat yourself up over it. You weren't of the right mind."
"No, I certainly was not. But there was still no excuse for what I did."
She sighed and stared into his eyes. "Loghain, maybe what you did was wrong, but you have no idea how glad I am that you're here."
He involuntarily brushed his fingers across her face. "Kallian. You have no idea how glad I am to have met you."
She gasped. "Loghain…" Did he have feelings for her? Had she been blind this whole time?
He shook his head and gave her a sad smile. "I know what you are going to say. It was never my intention to burden you with my feelings, but I suppose my heart spoke before my head." He backed away from her.
"Wait Loghain," she grabbed his hand. "Your feelings are not a burden to me…" She gulped. "Especially because I return them."
He whipped around to look at her. She was serious. This wasn't a dream. Wasting no more time, he gathered her into his arms and his lips were hard on hers. She mewled under his touch, and reached up to untie his tied-back hair. Her fingers were running through it, like she had wanted to do for so long.
He forced her mouth open with his tongue, and their tongues danced together like the perfect symphony. One of his hands was pressed into her backside, and the other was lightly stroking her ear. She had no idea how he knew the right spot, but as elf ears were so sensitive, she was putty in his hands. Her eyes were starting to roll back into her head from the feeling of it. Fire pooled into her belly and she was becoming uncomfortably wet. His hardness was pressed into her pelvis, making her wiggle.
He stopped for a minute to look at her. Her lips were swollen and parted from his kiss and her pupils were dilated. She had never looked more beautiful than in that moment. "Kallian," he whispered hoarsely. "Can I take you to my bed?"
She bit her lip. "Y-yes, but…"
He stroked her hair. "What is it my sweet?"
"I have never…I have never been with a man before." She looked down in embarrassment.
He paused. That surprised him. With all her popularity, he had never expected that she would be a virgin. He noticed the look of men and women alike as she walked into a room, but he had never expected that she would want him to be her first. He took a deep breath. "While I am surprised, it does not bother me. I do not want to cause you distress, however, and I will cease if that is what you wish."
"No," she practically begged. "Don't stop."
He smiled. "As you wish. I will be gentle."
She nodded and flushed crimson. She was brave in the face of darkspawn, but under this man's gaze she felt cowardly. With shaking hands that she tried to steady, she undid the clasps on his shirt, and he helped her lift it over his head. She ran her hands over his hard muscles as he kissed her softly and tried to control himself from ravishing her.
He helped her out of her clothes, and lifted her onto the bed. He placed a pink nipple in his mouth, while his other hand stroked the other one. "Loghain," she moaned his name and he started to kiss his way down her soft, milky body. His tongue found its way into the soft skin of her thighs and then dove right inside her. "Ohhh," she groaned. He was exploring her soft, wet flesh, while his arms held her legs down from moving.
She started to feel a buildup of pressure that caused her to pant loudly, and then a quick release that made her cry out in pleasure. Loghain watched her hungrily, until her convulsions slowed down, and then stood up to quickly take off his pants.
Kallian's head was swimming; he climbed on top of her and kissed her passionately. She could taste the saltiness of herself on his tongue, but she didn't mind when his hands roamed her body. She felt him part her legs and slowly move his way inside of her. First was the pain, but as he started to move, the pain became less and less, and she started to move her hips in time with his. "Kallian," he moaned her name. "You feel so fucking good…"
She felt the sweet buildup again, and his words sent her over the edge. She screamed his name as she climaxed, and her convulsions triggered his own release. He spilled himself inside of her and then collapsed on top of her.
After they caught their breaths, he moved off of her, and he lifted the blankets off the bed and placed them on her. He stared at her lovingly and stroked her hair. "Are you alright?"
She smiled blissfully. "Better than alright."
He chuckled. "I am glad my sweet."
She moved closer to cuddle into his chest. "Can we do that again sometime?" She asked innocently.
He threw back his head and laughed. "Yes, if you will have me."
She grinned, and then kissed his lips lightly. "It's funny…It wasn't that long ago that we hated each other."
He smiled back. He loved her now, but he wasn't about to admit that to her right away. "Yes we certainly wanted to murder each other." He traced light circles on her breasts. "But I knew that as soon as I saw you in Ostagar, I wanted you. No woman had stirred feelings in me like that before. And once that business with Cailan happened, I wanted you dead but I wanted you in my bed so badly…It was torment for me." He kissed her forehead. "I care about you Kallian, so much more than you know. I just want to do right by you."
She felt the same way about him, but there was something she was dying to know. "Loghain…Don't you have a wife? And what does that mean for us?"
He sighed. "I do, but we have scarcely seen each other in years. She is indifferent towards me, and has not taken to my bed in a long time. Even still, I do not remember feeling about her the way I do about you." His eyes met hers. "I wish I could give you more than being my mistress, but as I am still married, I cannot."
"I understand," she said, disappointed.
He could hear it in her voice. "My sweet, it is all I can give you for now. I want more with you, but this all depends on the outcome of the Blight."
"We only have a few days Loghain. We should make the most of it," she kissed him.
"You are right," he smiled adoringly at her.
On the eve of the incoming battle, Kallian and Loghain were informed about what it really means to be a Grey Warden. One of them had to die to defeat the archdemon. Loghain, naturally offered up himself to save Kallian, and wouldn't budge on this issue. She didn't know what to do until Morrigan offered up an alternative.
Kallian knew Morrigan well, and knew why she wanted to sire a child with a Grey Warden. She and Kallian were good friends, but it was obvious why Flemeth sent her to travel with the Warden. While this was technically selfish of her, Kallian didn't care about her motives. Anything to save Loghain's life was a blessing to her. Now convincing him was the hard part…
"You want me to do what?" Loghain said slowly.
"I know," Kallian shook her head. "I know how absolutely crazy this sounds."
He started to pace. "You want me to sire a child with…Morrigan? Someone whom I have no attraction to?"
"I don't like this either. Morrigan is my friend, and you are my…" she hesitated. She wanted to say 'boyfriend', but wasn't he a little old to be called that? Besides, would he like that term? "Well, either way, I don't exactly want you to fuck her, but if this is the only option…"
He looked at her sternly. "The other option would be to let me defeat the archdemon like we agreed."
She sat down on her bed and put her face in her hands. "We didn't agree on anything. You agreed. You decided for me."
"I need to atone for what I have done."
"Are you fucking serious?" She shouted.
"Kallian…"
"NO! I am tired of hearing you say that. You may think you need to atone, but do you even care about what I need?" She felt traitor tears slip down her cheek.
He paled staring at her. He had never seen her cry before. "What do you need Kallian?"
"What I need is for you to be alive! I love you Loghain, and I want to share a life with you. I need you to do this ritual. I want you to meet my father. I need you to survive." She was sobbing now and his heart started breaking.
He got down on his knees in front of her. The fact that she loved him changed everything. "Okay Kallian. I will do this for you."
"W-what?" She looked down at him.
He cupped her tear-stained cheeks in his hands. "You drive a hard bargain my love," he smiled. "I still don't like it, but sharing a life with you is very tempting indeed."
"Thank you Loghain!" She threw her arms around his neck so hard that they toppled on the floor in a heap.
They both started laughing, until his lips landed on hers. His kisses were becoming persistent, and it took all of her resolve to push him away. "No, save it for Morrigan."
He groaned, rolling his eyes. "Yes, well this experience sounds wonderful. You will stay in the room with me, yes?"
She raised an eyebrow. "You want me in the room?"
"I am not attracted to Morrigan. You get me going, so if you are in the room, it will make the experience better."
"You want a threesome?" She asked bluntly.
"No, I would prefer to get it over with as quickly as possible, so I can come back to your bed." He chuckled.
They moved into Morrigan's room, and the ritual was much more uncomfortable than Kallian thought it would be. She had to kiss Loghain to get him hard enough to fuck Morrigan, and everyone kept their clothes on. It was over quick, and when Morrigan said that the seed had taken route, Kallian suggested to Loghain that they take a bath together before the battle tomorrow.
"Well, I hope you enjoyed that experience," Kallian said when she lowered herself into the large, hot tub.
"Why is that?" Loghain raised an eyebrow. Whenever he saw Kallian naked, he would lose his train of thought.
"Because," she moved sultrily over to him, the water splashing around her, "that is the only time I will permit you to be with another woman."
"Oh, really?" He laughed.
"Yes," she placed the tip of her finger on his lip, to part it. "You are mine Loghain Mac Tir."
Maker, he loved her. She was so sexy and she knew it. "What benefits do I reap, being yours?" He smirked, and leaned back onto the edge of the tub.
"Well…" She climbed on top of him to straddle him. "I suppose I will just have to show you." She reached down under the water to intimately touch him.
"Little vixen," he smiled slyly.
She smiled back, fluttering her eyelashes. "Oh am I?"
He stared at her with hungry eyes, as she impaled herself on top of him. "Yes, my love, you are."
