Wit: Sorry for the delay dearies. I've been putting more of my creative energy into my studies. And my RL job. Working 7 days a week means no time for creativity. Who knew?
This is a bit of a plug for the MARVELOUS Phlint/BowTie series on AO3 called The Body Electric by Jade_Dragoness. Can be read as a stand alone fix-it but I REALLY RECOMMEND you read it!
…Maybe after my fic first though. ;-P
Coulson can't watch WALL.E anymore.
…Well no; that's not quite right.
Clint can't watch WALL.E anymore.
It's not - It's just… He can't. The ending just… breaks him.
His first time seeing the movie was after …well…After. Looking at the screen as WALL.E recharged and resurrected was just like looking into that stark white room as the love of his life woke up and moved about; a blank 'robotic' slate. Not remembering himself.
Not remembering Clint.
It was his every nightmare realised in film form and Clint didn't even realise he was sobbing his heart out until the soundtrack stopped and Coulson – Phil – had wrapped him in his arms.
So now he's ruined marathon night; what was supposed to be a celebratory thing after his and Phil's own…'Glad-You're-Not-Dead' marathon. Heh
Whatever. Clint has now ruined marathon night – with it's special robots theme – when it's barely even eight and they haven't even finished the first movie yet.
He's a shit boyfriend.
He's a shit boyfriend to the most amazing man ever, who, even now when he should – by all rights – be having his own PTSD reaction, is holding him and soothing him with sweet nothings while Jarvis and Tony apologise about not screening the thing before they started with a kids' flick. Clint would be amused that two genius-level minds didn't think of this if it weren't for the fact that he's ruined everything.
And did he mention WALL.E is one of Phil's favourite movies?
Clint is a shit boyfriend.
"No," Phil turns to face him, "Don't do that; it's natural for traumatic events to have an impact."
"But Ph-" Clint gets cut off with a kiss that is more chaste and loving than point-proving – although it's that as well – that melts every bone in his body. By the time they came up for air he's stopped crying and has relaxed to the point where if Phil said the sun was blue he'd agree with him.
That makes what Phil really says even more precious.
"You went and got me back; got me to remember myself, on your own. You got me and you'll always have me; you are part of me until the day I die. And if I have to keep on kissing you and holding you for that long to prove it then I'll gladly do everything and more. Whenever you want."
Clint's not crying again. He's not. He's staring in wonder and awe at this magnificent person…
"EVE and WALL.E did it and so did we."
…Who's such an adorable dork. Really; adorkable.
Muttering a bashful "Yeah" he hugs the life out of his boyfriend because doing anything else will not end up being fit for polite company. Besides; he gets jealous of people ogling his man.
"…Clint?"
"…Yeah?"
"Do you want to finish the movie?"
"…Yeah; let's see their happy beginning."
