Quick Author's Notes: Originally posted on deviantART—I don't really think it's so good, but there are so little Nekozawa/Tamaki fics. :( I'm in the process of writing another one, one that I think is much better. So, in the meantime, please read this one…
:D
The Wind is Cold Tonight
It was late, ten-thirty at night, and Tamaki should be sleeping. He should be in his bed, curled up beneath the covers, having sweet, pleasant dreams, and he should be dreaming about France, or maybe his mother, or maybe Haruhi, or maybe the host club. He shouldn't be out here, the freezing winds of November unbearably cold, standing in the school's garden. He shouldn't be wearing his silk pajamas and he shouldn't be here staring back at Nekozawa Umehito from his place in the shadows.
Shouldn't be here, shouldn't be here.
"Tamaki-kun. You came."
Shouldn't be here, shouldn't be here...He would've cursed me if I didn't come, I know it, he would have cursed me with that damned black magic of his and he would have laughed and cut my throat as he did it...
Nekozawa gestured for Tamaki to come under the canopy of a few particularly large rose bushes. It was a little cave of thorns, and Nekozawa seemed a fairy, what with his black cloak and knowing smirk. There was barely room for two people.
Tamaki sank to his knees and crawled underneath, wincing as a couple thorns scraped his arms, ripping the silk.
Nekozawa was smiling.
Tamaki was almost afraid to ask, but he had to know...
"N-Nekozawa-senpai," Tamaki stammered, as Nekozawa crawled onto his lap (just like a cat, how fitting), "w-w-why exactly did you ask me to meet you here...?"
"Why?" Nekozawa repeated, kissing Tamaki's chin. "Why, because I knew that you would answer my call."
Tamaki had no idea what that meant but he had a feeling it had something to do with dark magic. Evil, shadowy magic that ripped hearts and sewed them back as tenderly as before. Nekozawa buried his head in Tamaki's soft shirt.
"Tamaki-kun. The thorns are sharp tonight."
Tamaki had no idea what that meant, either, but he nodded in agreement. Best to play it safe...
Nekozawa's head snapped up and his pale, boney arms reached up to grip Tamaki's shoulders, kissing him with a sudden passionate need. Tamaki kissed him back, his arms wrapping around Nekozawa's cloaked waist. But questions lingered in his mind, questions of which he was too afraid to answer.
"N-Nekozawa...Nekozawa-kun...W-Why...?"
Nekozawa pressed his lips to Tamaki's neck, all the while gently stroking his hair.
"The wind is cold tonight," he murmured. "I need someone warm."
Automatically Tamaki pulled him closer, sharing his own heat with the thin, frail body before him. Nekozawa glanced up, at his face, and then turned his gaze to outside of the cave. The moon peeked eerily in and out of grey clouds, a mere ring of silver.
"The wind is cold tonight," Nekozawa said again.
Author's Notes:
edit: okay, because of so many reviews badgering me about how originally nekozawa called tamaki his senpai, i went back and changed it. i didn't realize you people would dislike it so much, and now i know that nekozawa is tamaki's senpai. are you happy now?
