Poem of Joshua

Disclaimer: I don't own the Bible. It is the Lord's book and it will forever be His.
Joshua looked around him. He and the children of Israel were marching around the city of Jericho. He remembered the angel that had visited him in the night. The angel had given him God's direction on how to bring down the walls of the city.
You make light from dark, illuminate my heart, it started a spark, and now I'm consumed,
The plan was so strange. Just march around, blow on ram's horns, shout, and the walls of the city will fall down. How could that possibly happen?
I know that it's Your will, and I'm going to shine until, I'm a city on a hill, and they can see you,
He knew he should do what God had said, and he was, but he was so unsure. What if this didn't work? The children of Israel would never reach the Promised Land. He would let all his people down.
I know you. I know you…inside.
But God had never made a mistake before. He parted the Red Sea for Moses. He sent the plagues. Why would he be wrong now?
You set me, You lit me, I'm on fire. What a beautiful sight to see, I'm on fire. Until my light is burning bright, I'm gonna lift your name and let this flame get higher. Fire…
He felt a warm wave of love rush through his body as he was walking. He loved God very much, just like God loved him. Why would he ever doubt the Lord?
Let your fire feed on all my disbelief, cause You are all I need, You're contagious,
The men around him looked tired and skeptical about if this would work. Joshua decided to explain it to them later. They would understand.
Like a blaze I can't contain, it never fades away. It's sunshine through the rain, that's what Your love is.
He wished he could drop on his knees and praise the Lord for his compassion. But he kept quiet and to himself.
And I know. And I know inside…
But he still smiled. A few of the men glanced at him, wondering what he could possibly be so happy about. But Joshua didn't notice. He just kept walking.
You set me, You lit me, I'm on fire. What a beautiful sight to see, I'm on fire. Until my light is burning bright, I'm gonna lift Your name and let this flame get higher. Fire…
The were almost finished compassing the city. They had two other sides to walk beside, but half way done was better than having walked nowhere.
I wanna show 'em you're the only one, show them you're the only one. You're the only reason I'm on fire…
He really wanted to tell them that God knew what He was doing, that the plan wouldn't fail. But he had told them not to make a sound from their mouths, so he couldn't. It was hard to keep it to himself. It was hard not to spread God's love and wisdom.
You set me, You lit me, I'm on fire. What a beautiful sight to see, I'm on fire. Until my light is burning bright, I'm gonna lift Your name and let this flame get higher. Fire…
But they would know. His love would fill their hearts.
You set me, You lit me, I'm on fire. What a beautiful sight to see, I'm on fire. Until my light is burning bright, I'm gonna lift your name and let this flame get higher. Fire…
And His love would turn to light.
