A Day on the Moon
Getting lost in the moonlight
That overwhelms me
Looking past the great moon's sea
Gazing out to a distant Earth
Is better than sitting by the hearth
But fire cannot compare to the moon
Since this place makes me swoon
No more sorrow, no more pain
Just happiness to gain
Stars will glimmer, stars will shine
Stars will be mine
They shimmer for this world to see
And others as well as me
Off in the distance is coming a light
Which is nothing that I can fight
It comes and goes
And everyone knows
That there is nothing to stop it.
Nothing to fear
As it comes here
It brings warmth to us all
From spring to summer,
Summer to fall
The morning glow
That we all know
Means daybreak to my dismay
But even though it's daytime now
Darkness will come soon
Before it arrives
I'll sit outside
And watch the sunset afar.
Darkness will come
Since there is no sun,
And nighttime will have begun
