Andrew stood beside the C:D player, leafing through Warren's collection of C:D's. he groaned in disgust, wondering why there glorious leader didn't have a better taste in music.
His fingers touched a C:D case and he pulled it out of the rack.
It didn't seem like Warren's taste in music so Andrew was pretty sure he'd like it, he flicked open the case while with one elbow he pressed the button on the C:D player that brought out the tray so he could put it on.
Reading the play list Andrew selected track number eight and stood still for a few moments letting the first cords wash over him.
God I feel like hell tonight, Tears of rage I cannot fight
Jonathan from his workbench sighed and put down the candle he had laboriously been scraping the name of some girl into.
Having Andrew around was like having a puppy about, they need constant careful attention because otherwise they peed all over the carpet…eh not that wasn't quite right but whatever with Andrew you had to watch him because…you just did.
I'd be the last to help you understand, Are you strong enough to be my man?
Andrew tapped his foot along to the song humming under his breath. He knew from the frustrated sigh behind him he was annoying Jonathan but he didn't give a shit. Warren had gone out and he was going to make the most of it, put on some music maybe dance (if Jonathan got really annoyed and went away) and enjoy himself.
Unconsciously he began to sway to the song.
nothing's true and nothing's right, so let me be alone tonight
Jonathan kept watching him out of the corner of his eye, just enjoying the way Andrew's hips swayed along to the beat. He liked the song as well, he'd never tell anyone that but he did it was soft and he could remember dancing with someone once in a very crowed, very drunk bar who'd sung along with him when he'd mumbled the words into…her? Yes her shoulder.
Andrew was singing now, probably forgetting he was even there, Jonathan gave up all pretence of work and just sat enjoying the show.
cause you can't change the way I am, Are you strong enough to be my man?
Andrew didn't like his voice, he thought it sounded like a little choir girls voice and people laughed at him when he sang. But somehow that didn't matter because he was happy and Jonathan wasn't laughing so he'd sing as loud as he wanted.
It didn't even bother him that Jonathan was watching him.
Lie to me, I promise I'll believe, Lie to me, But please don't leave
Jonathan stood up, dropping the candle with the forgotten girls name upon it on to the floor where it rolled under the table and was lost forever to everything except dust.
He wanted to go dance with Andrew.
I have a face I cannot show, I make the rules up as I go
Andrew was frightened, he didn't expect anything like this but he smiled when Jonathan's arms wrapped around him.
"Your not singing" Jonathan pointed out, Andrew thought his voice had died but finally he managed to croak out
"Just try and love me if you can, Are you strong enough to be my man?"
and then him bending down and Jonathan standing on tiptoes they kissed, very quickly and then pulled away, Andrew blushing and Jonathan looking surprised.
"Well…I…um…shit!"
"Yah"
Jonathan's arms loosened around him and then pulled away and he went back to his workbench, and Andrew changed the song and the pretended it never happened.
The end. ...
