Chapter 1- Flight to the Fort

Ice-Cold wind blew through Fred's carrot-red hair as he flew with his brother, George, across the moonlit sky. His broom flew almost smoothly forward through the buttery clouds.
A few hours ago the two twins had flown away from Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. But of course there was a reason, a very good one, thank you very much! Professor Umbridge was an old bat with a personality like a mutated skunk. Once she had become Headmistress of Hogwarts Fred and George had been plaguing the school from the floor to the ceiling with pranks. Well, you might have already figured out the reaction the old bat had, so the twins came up with a solution. Fly away... in style! On their quidditch brooms they flew out of the castle and headed for the Fort.
The Fort was located in Diagon Alley right above the shop they had bought to create their joke shop.
"Look at the lights up ahead. That's where we're heading for." George called to Fred.
Slowly, they leveled their brooms to head down onto the empty streets of the Alley. George's teeth chattered against eachother as the coldness stung his face and neck.
As soon as they had landed with quite a racket (Fred's feet had slid and he had hit a trash can, and George landed ontop the roof of Madame Malkin's Robe Shop), they climbed the winding stairs up to the Fort.
The chairs and drapes had been moth bitten and were covered in holes. A few floorboards were loose and tripped any person who dared to stride pass. Blankets lay scattered on the rusty floor, which were to go on the creaky bed. The shower had lost its pearly white color and only cold water dripped from it.
The twins sighed in unison and dropped onto the chairs.
"It'll have to do," Fred said.
