Sorry I haven't updated my older stories yet but the finale has left me drained and I NEEDED to write something of a less cliffie ending, lol.

Sam stared at the window, the demon blood still surging in him-that was what made the streetlamp burst. A quiver of a smile fell on his face. Dean was keeping his promise. He was trying to have the apple pie life. A part of him paused, before heading to the door. Should he enter? Or should he let Dean adjust to life without him? Let him go on and live a normal life? Hell Sam was trying to figure out who brought him back in the first place...was it God? He shuddered as he thought about his fate while falling through the hole. He remembered the power inside of him as he overcome Lucifer.

"It's okay, Sammy, I'm not leaving you"

The army man stuffed in the Impala. The Impala that was their home. That carried them. His unconditional love for Dean defying the unconditional evil of Lucifer.

Knowing that this was the end for him, that he had to sacrafice himself to save Dean,so he could let Dean live a normal apple pie life. If he couldn't, than at the very least Dean could. Though the tiniest part of him was jealous at his own fate.

He pushed that thought immediatly out of his mind as he saw Dean smiling at young Ben. Could Dean live a carefree life without his brother? Sam closed his eyes. Yes he could, but deep down something inside of Dean would be missing. Just like something inside of him was missing when Dean died. And if Dean found out that he was alive and didn't say anything...Sam had to knock on the door.

Slowly and carefully he tread up the footsteps. He heard the kid's laughter. He raised his hand and knocked gently on the wooden door. Lisa came and opened it.

"Sam." Her face froze. It was clear that Dean had told her something had happened to him, that he had died. "That's...not possible...you're..."

"I know," sighed Sam. "It's...complicated to explain. Can...I come in?"

Lisa nodded.

"Of course, of course."

Dean was sitting at the couch, smiling as Ben was showing him some of his baseball card collections. His mind was on Sammy though, Sammy trapped in the pit. Down in hell...a fate he didn't deserve. But he couldn't cry in front of the kid.

"Dean, someone's here to see you." Lisa's voice was soft. He slowly turned around and stared at Sam. His face froze in utter shock.

He stood slowly, unable to say anything. Barely unable to process what he was seeing.

".....Sammy? Is...Is that really you?"

Sam nodded, tears in his eyes. Ben watched, fascinated.

"What? How...I don't even..."

"Me neither," whispered Sam. "I don't even know what happened, one minute I was falling and the next...."

Dean was shaking.

"I...I can't believe it...I just..." He bit his lip. "Is it really you?" He found himself repeating. Sam nodded again.

"Yeah," he whispered. "It's really me."

A tear rolled down Dean's eye, than the other. And suddenly he started to sob as he went towards his little brother and grabbed him into a gigantic hug. As he tightened his grip he realized he never wanted to let Sam go. Never wanted to leave him out of his sight.

"I can't believe it, I can't..."He found himself unable to speak coherently but than Sam wasn't able to speak at all. He just let Dean hold him as he rested his head on his older brother's shoulders, utterly exhausted and utterly relieved for it to be over. Finally, it was over.

Finally they were free to love without being afriad.

Finally they were together. and finally they were home.
