This is a song fic of sorts based on Chopin's Nocturne Op. 9 No. 2. It's part of a series of drabbles I did where I put my Ipod on shuffle and wrote until the song ended. Try it, it's fun!
"Doctor," Rose whispered over the soft piano music, looking up at the man who was holding her close. "Doctor, is this even dancing music?"
The Doctor chuckled, gazing at her fondly. "Well, no, I suppose not. Nocturnes generally aren't, but what does it matter? My dancing abilitites, as you've pointed out before, aren't exactly the envy of the galaxy." With that, he twirled her, her dress swirling around her and matching the slight swell of the music. She giggled, doing her best to stifle it, as anything louder would seem to break the quiet, peaceful atmosphere around them.
"Doctor, I do believe this is the nicest date you've ever taken me on," she murmured, looking around at this piece of the past and glancing back up at the doctor mischievously.
"I have no idea what you're talking about, Rose Tyler," he said. "We really should be getting back now, we did leave the TARDIS in the middle of the streets of Paris."
"One more song?"
"I suppose. One more song."
