My Hero, Journal Entry #1

To be honest, I don't really have a true hero. The way I see it, everyone can be everyone's hero. However, for the purpose of this assignment, I will pick one, even though he or she will be one most have never heard of.

My hero is not a real person. She is an anime character; anime is basically Japanese cartoons. More specifically, she is an anime character from Bleach. Her name is Kujo Nozomi; the Westernized way of saying her name would be Nozomi Kujo.

Even in Bleach, Nozomi is not a real person. She is what is referred to as a Mod Soul, or a Replacement Soul. She has the same attributes as a human such as emotions, a body, senses, and other things, but does not have a true soul. Yet, despite all that, she acts as a normal human girl and tries to help others.

Nozomi only appears in Bleach for one season, but is pretty much a main character for the majority of her screen time. The whole plot of the season is that the antagonist, who, as the cast finds out, is the one who created Nozomi and the rest of the Mod Souls in the first place, is trying to capture her for a reason that isn't revealed until later. Nozomi runs away to the world where the humans (and most of the Bleach cast) live.

She is found unconscious in the streets by Kon, who is also a Mod Soul (however, Nozomi doesn't know that). He takes care of her until she awakes. But Nozomi doesn't even thank him – She runs away from the house, as far away as she can. She's trying to repay her savior by keeping him out of harm's way.

Later on, when Kon finally finds her and brings her back with him, she confesses to the Bleach cast that she is a Mod Soul. Her bravery in this astounds me, because she could be killed for admitting this. You see, the Mod Souls were supposed to have all been terminated a long time ago, because they were deemed inhumane. However, her existence as a Mod Soul is an essential key to them deciphering the antagonist's plans. She tells them, even though they may kill her anyways.

Of course, Kon admits to Nozomi that he, too, is a Mod Soul, and that the others don't mind, as they treat all life with equal value.

Nozomi continues to be brave throughout the entire season, even going as far as to give herself to the enemy so he would leave her newfound friends alone. Most would say big deal, so what, almost every fictional character does stuff like this. But I say she's different. Why? I honestly don't know. I believe it may just be that despite all of this, her normal self is just like that of a young girl who is lost and depressed and needs guidance from others. Yet her bravery shines through all of this. And that is why Kujo Nozomi is my hero.

A/N: So, yeah, not my new SE OS, but I'm still working on that. X3 This is a journal entry I had to type up for school, so I decided to post it her to get y'alls opinion on how I did. Honestly, I did this in a joking matter, so don't take it too seriously. Ja ne!
