"Luciano?" Ludwig asked, knocking on the bathroom door and hoping for an answer. Luciano, Ludwig's reddish-brown haired Italian lover of twenty-one, went off an hour ago after saying he was going to take a shower.
Ludwig, a tall blond German of age twenty-three, noticed after a while that his shower was taking much longer than the usual fifteen to twenty minutes, so he went to check on him. Ludwig pressed his right ear to the door, furrowing his brow while listening intently for the sound of Luciano's voice calling to him in reply.
Minutes went by, and no such sound was heard. "Luciano, if you don't answer me in three seconds I'm breaking down this door."
The three seconds passed with no reply.
Ludwig rammed his shoulder into the door, jarring it from the doorframe as it swung open. He walked into the bathroom, parted the curtains, and screamed.
Luciano was laying on the floor of the tub, water cascading down from the showerhead and mixing with the lightly metallic smelling red fluid that spattered the white walls and coated his body from the chest down and stained his fairly tanned skin pinkish orange.
After his shock and horror faded, it was replaced with sorrow.
He was right downstairs.
He could've done something.
Come to think of it, what had happened anyway?
There was no sound of a struggle.
Then he remembered that Luciano never goes anywhere without his favourite knife.
The same knife was laying on the protruding counter in the shower that help the shampoos and such, coated with the same red liquid.
Ludwig, after steeling himself and turning off the water, leaned down and began to pick him up, knowing he couldn't just leave him there.
"Ludwig, what the hell are you doing?"
Ludwig once again screamed, dropping the Italian, who glared up at him with solfurino eyes and a questioning expression.
"W-Well, with all this blood I thought you were dead so I couldn't just leave you in here..
"Blood?" Luciano questioned, then began to laugh hysterically, "a-amore, haha, oh how you humour me! This isn't blood, haha, it's a bunch of those red coloured bath fizz tablets, and a couple of yellow for the orange tint, that I put in a cup then slung all over the place!"
Ludwig pouted, "Then what's that coppery sort of smell?"
"You know that little metal switch that you use to plug and unplug the drain?" Luciano explained as he pointed to it.
Ludwig nodded.
"I sharpen my teeth and my knife on it, and when I do that it gives off that metallic smell and taste that I like."
Ludwig looked at him quizzically, "Why do you sharpen your teeth on that?"
"What? I take pride in my canines' sharpness."
