The way her bright blue eyes sparkles in excitement always fascinates him. They are beautiful ocean eyes with inviting waves.
The way she enjoys styling her hair and the vibrant colors of her clothes are always full of energy. She reminds him of summer light and spring blossoms.
The way she sighes in happiness while eating a big bowl of ramen is simply priceless. It is impossible to not smile with her too.
Yeah, these thing makes his heart warm and fuzzy. He is naturally falling for her charms.
Drew wants to get closer to May. If only—
"—I've got a plan!" Harley sings in a voice full of mischief and fun, "I want you to bug someone else and let me have Cookie for myself today!"
Drew wakes up from his daydreaming, clearly bothered by the uncalled interruption.
"I deserve some special time to spend with Miss Tent too! Stop giving her too attention, alright?"
The young prodigy has no idea why should he negotiate something as absurd as Harley's fashion sense. "Go ahead and talk to May, nobody is stopping you from that."
"Look at those silly and weird kids..." The purple-haired coordinator whines, blatantly pointing a finger at the trio at the cafeteria. "I think you should interact more with them and stop monopolizing Solidad and May from me. You know, social interaction is something beautiful and healthy."
Drew is absolutely sure that Harley is a stupid, manipulative and poisonous person - nothing that comes out from his loud mouth is remotely recyclable into something useful. Why should he listen to that gibberish?
"Ash! What are you doing?!"
May pouts her lips lightly, placing her hands on her hips in an annoyed pose. The trainer from Pallet Town is laughing out loudly, holding his stomach in amusement.
"Hahahaha! Did you see that, Pikachu?"
Drew's bored eyes silently shift from his ideal rival to the boy from Pallet Town. Ash finishes his orange juice and raises one closed knuckle up to the air.
"Let's do this again! Tomorrow the badge will be mine!"
"Pikapi!"
The way his adventurous eyes burn inspires courage and desire to challenge the world. His dreams aren't easy stuff - but he's clearly commited to try the impossible.
The way he grins while patting on his little partner's head is really heartwarming. It is impossible to not smile with him too.
The way he sees May as his hardworking student and younger sister is so sincere that he doesn't feel jealousy towards that look.
Thinking about these things makes Drew's heart warm and—
"—Drewsie darling, staring is impolite."
"I... I wasn't looking at..." The green-haired boy quickly tries to justify himself - however, realizing what Harley probably meant, he just cut his answer into a not so confident whisper. "...Whatever."
"If you want a slice of that hot cake, give her some room to breath! Oh Mew, you seriously need to find new stuff to do, boy!"
Drew allows himself one last curious glimpse of raven hair jumping around the Pokemon Center... Before sinking his head into his arms in embarrassment.
He was now confused, really confused.
A/N: I actually enjoy Respectshipping a lot in a friendship light, but in a romantic way... I guess it is a nice eyecandy ahahahaha /gets shot
I think Drew is too obsessed with May to really fall in love with someone else that isn't our favorite airhead brunette BUUUT I can imagine Drew with an aesthetic attraction to Ash, which is enhanced by the fact that May and Ash share a lot of personality traits and... Okay, I will stop here lol
My summer vacations start in two weeks! I'll update the other stories in that free time, yay :)
