Today was a very interesting day in Lumbridge. As I entered the cemetery southeast of the Lumbridge Castle, I noticed Xenia an old adventurer mulling something over in her head. I quickly asked Xenia if anything was wrong she replied "oh LadySophie, I have just witnessed some Zamorakian cultists entering the catacombs beneath Lumbridge Church." Politely I asked Xenia if I could do anything to help her. Quite honestly I never really expected her next response. Xenia replied "oh yes LadySophie, you must come with me into the catacombs and help me to confront these cultists, find out their plan and save the person they have abducted." Scared out of my wits I was, but still felt compelled to help her.
As Xenia led the way down a dark staircase to the catacombs, I kept anticipating the worst. Suddenly we heard voices in the near distance. We overheard the cultists discussing their plan for a blood pact. Within a moment I heard a shot fired from the first cultists we came upon. Xenia was wounded from the shot. Xenia now had no strength to battle these cultists, she offered only her support of advice with each battle I had to engage in. I have to admit my immediate thoughts were to run back up those stairs as fast as I can. With a deep breath, I knew I had to muster up enough courage and continue with what I had promised. Dodging bullets, I was able to defeat the first cultist using my sword. This first male cultist disclosed what him and the other cultists were doing in the catacombs. From what I gathered they needed a life taken for some sort of ritual. This first male cultist asked for me to spare his life, but I did not. Xenia was pleased with my first defeat and then expressed her dissatisfaction with my slaughter of the first cultist. I explained to Xenia it has been a very long day teaching Kindergarten and I have lost my patience for any sort of disruptive behavior. I promised Xenia with the next cultist I will try my best to refrain from using slaughter as a means of discipline.
As I continued throughout the catacombs (without Xenia now) and approached a certain section, I saw flashes of light coming my way. Thank heavens I had taken the bow and arrow from the first cultist for I needed it and quickly. I began shooting my arrows at who I believed to be the second cultist. After a quick battle I opened a gate to approach her side of the wall. This second cultist was a woman who asked me to spare her life. With a big sigh, I agreed on one condition she tell me where the person they abducted was. This cultist explained that there was only one more person from her clan and that is where I would find the innocent person. I did spare her life but not before taking her staff.
The third cultist was behind a door to a tomb. As I opened the door I viewed the abducted person all tied up. I quickly began to battle the third cultist and defeated him. As I promised Xenia, I would spare lives of those who I come across. This cultist to my surprise took his own life by drinking poison. My attention was now on untying the abducted person and helping Xenia out of the catacombs.
Xenia was fine now and thanked me for all the help I had given to her. Was this adventure worth it all? I guess so, for I was able to achieve another quest, many new weapons and experience in attack, defense, strength, range, magic as well as access now to the Lumbridge Castle Catacombs dungeon which might be needed as I continue adventures in this interesting new land of Lumbridge.
