Disclaimer: I don't own TMNT, and Laird/Eastman would be fools to sell it to me.
Above Your Heart
Don pushed me onto my back and grabbed my leg, a shooting pain resonating through my body. "Whada'ya doing?" I asked through clinched teeth. My brother fell to his knees before me.
"Above your heart," Was all I understood. His skin was hot against mine. He extended my leg until my foot was pressed into his shoulder. My entire body ached.
"Get down fer ya get 'it." It sounded incoherent even to me. Don ignored my garbled order and ripped his bandanna from his face. Quickly he tied it around my leg, my body writhing in pain. The gash on my inner thigh took no time to stain the purple with a thick, sticky red. "Don," I choked as the same crimson liquid spilled down my cheek. My fingers pulled my brother towards me, digging into his skin. My foot fell from its resting place and crashed to the ground, a wave of pain rippling through my body. My fingers twisted on his skin, burrowing into his forearm. I pulled his face to mine, "Leave me." He shoved me away and searched the ground quietly. I watched the stars twinkle in the sky as streaks of orange went overhead. The building was on fire. The glass from the window...Don ripped my bandanna from my eyes, the night air was cool against my sweaty skin. He quickly pierced one end with my sai and grasped at the frayed edges. My eyelids fell as a crash rang out behind me.
"Hold on." I could barely hear my brother. A sharp, hot pain pierced the healthy flesh of my thigh sending a horrible pain through my body. I jerked in reaction, pulling myself from the ground. Don held me down as the sharp, hot object went through the other side. My fingers clawed at the gritty cement below me. Don was stitching my leg, the fool. I bit my tongue in pain, tears running down my temples, leaving trails in the grime on my skin. The stars seemed closer now, almost brighter. I watched as red hot embers landed around us. The flickering orange light illuminated Don's figure, he was bent over me, completely oblivious to the danger around him. His hands were covered with blood to his wrists. The pain shot up and down my body, blood trying to seep between the fabric stitches. I coughed, blood spattering my chin.
"Don." I choked, barely above a whisper. I couldn't see my brother. I couldn't see anything.
