Caller 10 with the loudest cry for missing an act of fate
And you and I end up where we're not supposed to

Haley James was the kind of girl that people knew of, but ,aside from Lucas, no one ever really knew. She liked to think that she didn't give a shit what they all thought of her; she liked to think that she was above all that high school melodrama. Perhaps, one could argue, that she disliked cliques and the "in" crowd simply because she was not apart of it. Sure, on the weekends, she would make appearances at the Rivercourt and hang out with Lucas and the guys; however, at school, it was a rare occurance if someone saw her outside of class or the tutor center.

We all have a match if we can make the connection

Nathan Scott was probably one of the most known guys on campus, if not the most known. He was the star basketball player and dated Peyton Swayer, a cheerleader. His father, Dan Scott, was a successful car dealer so Nathan never had a shortage of income. After home games it was more than likely that Nathan would be throwing a rager at his family's beach house.

Nathan was an only child, or at least he considered himself on. Dan had had another son a few months before Nathan with another women. Nathan hated his brother, Lucas Scott. Not that it Lucas had ever done anything to him. Actually, he hardly even saw him even though they went to the same high school. He could only guess that Lucas and his friends hated Nathan as well. But, hell, who wouldn't be envious of Nathan?

So when your time comes make sure you're paying attention to it

Nathan was pissed. He seriously wondered if steam would start shooting from his eyes at any given moment. Why now? Why did Lucas have to butt into his life now, when everything was going perfectly for Nathan? He had to do something, and fast. He had to hurt Lucas, show him who he was messing with. He and Tim (well, pretty much just him since Tim really doesn't have much going on in that head of his…) did some "research" and figured out that the best why to hurt Lucas was to hurt someone close to him. But going after one of his guy friends was to risky; they would just hurt Nathan right back. The only option was that quiet girl he was always with, Haley.

The only problem was, when Nathan started putting his plan into action, it backed fired. Haley saw right through him. Even if she did believe he needed tutoring, she said, she would never betray Lucas like that. That wasn't the worst of it. As he tried to figure out how to get under Haley's skin and get her to cave, he began to admire her. Unfortunately, he knew that would never go anywhere since 1- she was Lucas' best friend and 2- she thought of him as the devil.

Nathan Scoot wasn't a quitter.

He promised himself that he have Haley James, even if it was the death of him.

A/N: I haven't written in forever, and never for One Tree Hill, so forgive me if this is horrible!

This story is probably going to be around 3-5 chapters (if you guys like it and review).
