Title: Playing Favourites
Drabble: #7
TK's prompt: Trampoline
Randomly selected pairing: Taito
Notes: I've been waiting for the chance to do Taito; it's my favourite.
Fun is one of Taichi's favourite things in the world. He particularly likes it when there's a carnival in town, because carnivals are always packed with fun things to do. The last time he went to a carnival he went to see a fortune teller. That was a good experience, even if she was talking a load of crap. He went on the Ferris wheel too, because he liked Ferris wheels, and it was always fun to have a birds-eye view of a brightly lit carnival at night. The trampolines were the best though, despite being a rip-off.
Another one of Taichi's favourite things in the world is Yamato. Honest to God, he doesn't know what he'd do if he woke up one morning and Yamato wasn't there. It nearly happened once; Yamato was already at the station, packed and ready to leave, before Taichi knew anything about it. It must have been fate that made his train delayed and gave Taichi enough time to come to his senses and chase him. He swears he never wants to be scared like that again in his life, because he really does love Yamato.
So when the time arrives for the carnival to come again, Taichi drags Yamato with him. After all, Taichi finds that these things are so much more enjoyable when he has company, especially when the company is as wonderful as Yamato. They go to see the fortune teller together, who tells them in her faked voice that they have many obstacles in the future to overcome. They don't care; they're Taichi and Yamato. They can handle a few stupid obstacles. Yamato, however, is reluctant to ride the Ferris wheel; he claims that it's riddled with bad construction and will probably break while they're right at the top. Taichi says that this could be seen as a good thing, and Yamato caves. Unfortunately, it keeps working like it's supposed to for the duration of their ride.
Yamato only watches when Taichi bounces on the stupidly expensive trampolines afterwards, and smiles fondly at the carefree grin etched into his face as his hair flies in every direction. Yes, it's better to have fun with your favourite person rather than by yourself.
