I wrote this after watching the Atlantis episode "Prodigal." It was something I just had to write. My original plan was for the story to be longer and to cover Michael's thoughts during some of the scenes with Teyla, but I didn't get that far. So here it is. Please enjoy.

Avenging Angel

Teyla appeared out of nowhere. Her fists pounded mercilessly. A kick to my chest sent the breath from my lungs. I staggered back, away from her blows, and slipped. For a moment I was falling. Then my fingers grasped the ledge, leaving me dangling over the city of Atlantis. Over me stood Teyla. The woman I loved.

I cried her name. She looked down at me, her expression cold and dispassionate. I read my death in those eyes. Those beautiful, dark eyes. Deliberately, she knocked the fingers of my left hand off the ledge. She was going to kill me.

I looked up at her in pleading despair. She knocked my right hand free. The last image I saw was Teyla standing above me like an avenging angel. Her hair whipped around her face. Her lovely face.

I love you, I thought and was gone. Falling into eternal darkness. And rest. Goodbye, Teyla. I'm sorry. I love you.

The End

So, good? Bad? In between? Review and let me know please.
