Alright, I'm just going to get this out of my system so that I can continue with my other fics. I happened to be listening to a CD of mine when Rurouni Kenshin was on, and when I thought about it, it fit ol' Kenshin so well it almost scared me. Alright, well here it is.

As the intro music plays, the sun can be seen rising over the mountains. The scene switches to inside a bedroom, Kenshin asleep in the bed, quite a bit of him bandaged. It is right after the battle with Shishio and Kenshin's eyes open slowly as the song begins.

I've dealt with my ghosts

And I've faced all my demons

Finally content, with a past I regret

I've found you find strength

In your moments of weakness

I'm finally at peace with myself

- - - - - -(These are just to seperate stanzas, at least, I think they're seperate ;;)

I've been burdened with blame

Trapped in the past for to long

I'm movin' on

Kenshin slowly gets up and moves to the window, looking outside where Kaoru and Yahiko practice. However, slowly we see through his eyes, and he's not looking at them, but through eyes of the past. The walls disappear and tents replace them, uniformed men making their way around the camp, doing various things. The angle turns and we see a much younger Kenshin, watching everyone moving around as the second verse starts.

I've lived in this place

And I know all the faces

Each one is different, but always the same

They mean me no harm

But it's time that I faced it

They'll never allow me to change

- - - - - -

I never dreamed home would end up

Where I don't belong

And I'm movin' on

The face changes from young too older as Kenshin blinks and smiles, this time really seeing the two practicing as Yahiko notices him and waves. Kenshin waves back, looking calmer and more rested than he has in a long time.

I'm movin' on

At last I can see

That life has been patiently

Waiting for me

And I know

There're no guarantees

But I'm not alone

- - - - - -

There comes a time

In everyone's life

When all you can see

Are the years passin' by

And I have made my mind

That those days are gone

Once again, the times change, back to the past this time, the former Battosai waving good-bye to a group of soldiers. He starts to walk but stops at a grave on the side of the road, looking at it with tears in his eyes that remain unshed.

I packed what I could

And sold what I couldn't

Stopped to feel love

On the way out of town

I've loved like I should

But lived like I shouldn't

Took losing everything to find out

- - - - - -

Maybe forgiveness will find me

Somewhere down this road

I'm movin' on

As the music fades, the young man turns and walks down the road. Slowly the times change for a last time and as they do four more backs appear, first ghost-like, then more solid as they all continue down the path. After a long, long journey, the rouroni is finally going home.

So, whatcha' think? Oh, and also, I almost forgot. I don't own Rouroni Kenshin or the song 'Movin' On'. Those belong to Nobuhiro Watsuki and Rascal Flatts respectively. Please R&R!
