Tristan is rummaging through his locker looking for his notebook when he senses someone behind him. Spinning abruptly, his mouth turns downward forming a deep frown at the sight of his uninvited guest. "What do you want?"

Miles squares his shoulders, looking determined. "I want you to take the video down."

Tristan scoffs. "And why would I do that?" He asks, smirking mischievously.

Miles sighs but doesn't appear deterred. It seems he came prepared for a fight.

"Because it's embarrassing." He finally says.

Tristan looks at him incredulously. "Embarrassing?" he repeats, before laughing bitterly.

Miles can practically see the anger rising in him as Tristan's pale skin starts to flush red "You mean like having the entire school tease you about you your relationship not being real, and ignoring them because you believed that it was, only to find out everyone else had been right all along and you were just being used... like some placeholder, a consolation prize. Embarrassing like that?" Tristan asks.

By the time he was done talking, he had gotten so loud that people around them had started to stare.

Deciding he'd given the student body enough to gossip about already, Tristan shut his locker a bit harder than necessary and walks away, leaving Miles standing there speechless.

Miles approaches him again the following day, this time looking a bit sheepish.

"Hey..."

"Look I already took the video down okay. It was childish and petty. And I only did it because I was upset, and it was like you didn't even care, and I just-I wanted-" Tristan says, pausing to find the right words.

Miles opens his mouth to respond, but aborts his efforts when Tristan raises a hand to stop him.

"Just... let me say this okay? I wanted you to feel just a little of what I was feeling, but I can't keep doing this with you Miles, this... thing where I'm angry and bitter and ready to go off at the drop of a hat. It's tiring, and I'm honestly exhausted."

Tristan finally finishes deflating, and Miles has never seen him look so defeated.

"Tris..."

"You should go" Tristan says looking over his shoulder, and Miles turns to see Maya across the hall, leaning against his locker.

"I hope you find what you're looking for." Tristan says before turning to leave, and Miles wants desperately to stop him. To grab him, and kiss him senseless. He wants to tell him that he'd already found it with him; but he can't do or say any of those things.

He pushed Tristan away for a reason, and nothing's changed since then. The great tornado that is Miles Hollingsworth the third is still ruining his life and he refuses to take Tristan down with him.

Tristan was going to come out of this better off for Miles having let him go, just like Maya had. Because deep down he knew that those things his father had said about him were true. He was no good for the people around him, especially the ones he cared about most.
