...*slowly peek*...in my defense... I've been wanting to write Vivi for a long time. I really, really love her. She's one of my favorites characters. And I'm kind of disappointed that there wasn't a lot of Vivi's stories. So, I decided to woman up and write one. For my entertainment and to those readers who like VIvi~ *beam*

However, this is different. As you all may know, that Vivi will be paired with Law. (Shocking, right? I mean... Vivi is actually paired with Ace, Luffy, or Zoro. Even Sanji and Doflamingo.)

Alrighty, I hope you readers enjoy this story~? :)

Warning: unbeta. English is my second language. ASL (American Sign Language) is my first. I'm Deaf. *peace*

I don't own One Piece. *sob*

Prologue

Lights shine beneath the door as he reached for it, hand on the doorknob and pushed it forward. His eyes slowly scan the room, the mirror was cracked, glasses scattered on the ground along with droplets of blood, to the figure of a female body. Blue hair caked in blood, pale and emotionless of a beautiful face. His heart was pounding hard and fast as his breath hitched. "...Vivi-ya?"

Location: Grand Line

Island: Whiskey Peak

Peak Inn

A young, beautiful sixteen years old girl who has luxurious wavy blue hair that has grown to her waist, chocolate brown eyes, fair skin, slender body, and she wears a blue strips tank top, white mid-thigh shorts with gold and emeralds belt, green thin jacket, and white boots. Her name is Nefertari, Vivi the Princess of Alabasta who is currently undercover as Miss. Wednesday for Baroque Works.

Vivi is in her room, sitting on a chair with documents and reports scattered on the table in front of her. She leaned forward while her fingers run through her hair as she is contemplative. 'There's got be a way… I know that Miss. All Sunday need to have a meeting with Mr. Zero soon. If I calculate this right, Miss. All Sunday and Mr. Zero had meetings every other month. However, their meetings always on different island, never stay the same.' Vivi bit her lip, thinking further as she grabbed a pen and a notepad. She needs an idea to follow Miss. All Sunday in order to identify Mr. Zero.

The princess frowned deeply, stared blankly at the notepad. No strategy came up in her mind, except that she would follow Miss. All Sunday in the shadow. 'However, Miss. All Sunday is known for cunning and intelligent. She could easily figure out if anyone dares to follow her.' Vivi slumped her shoulders. It's been nearly two years since she and Igaram/Mr. 8 left Alabasta.

Before the princess could plot the strategy. The knocked heard from the door, she stood up as she gathered all the paperwork into one folder and hid it under the pillow on her bed. Vivi immediately went to the dresser, grabbed her silver bead and pulled up a high, tight ponytail. Then switched to Miss. Wednesday persona. Vivi went to the door, answered and smirked flirtatiously. "Mr. 9! How pleasant to see you."

Mr. 9 beamed at her as he held up a folder. "Miss. Wednesday! We have great news!"

Vivi clapped excitedly as her eyes landed on the folder. "A new mission?! What will it be this time? A runaway traitor? Or shark loans roles?" she threw a couple of suggestions with false cheerful.

"No, Miss. Wednesday. This mission will give us a promotion!" Mr. 9 quickly walked inside Vivi's room and the princess shut the door quietly. She watched Mr. 9 flipped the folder that shown a black Baroque Works emblem on the front.

Vivi gasped when she noticed the color. "It's black, Mr. 9! That means we got a top-secret mission, so rare!" Mr. 9 nodded his head with a big grinned on his face.

"That's right baby! Our mission retrieves the rare stone from an island." Mr. 9 handed the folder to Vivi. She not unkindly took the folder, opened it and read it in silence.

Vivi raises her eyebrows at the document then glanced over at her partner who is jugging his bats happily. "Mr. 9, I have never heard of such an island before!" Mr. 9 glanced at her with confusion. "The island is called Three Sisters Towhead!"

Mr. 9 blinked. "Ah! I think I've heard of it once a long time ago. I believe the island was known as three feminine-like faces that resemble each other like sisters. Such an odd island, don't you think?!"

'And this island isn't?' Vivi mentally sweatdropped. "I agreed with you, Mr. 9. It sounds like an odd island!" then she went back to finish reading the document. A frowned appeared on her face. "There seems to be a serious battle happening on the island. If they are busy, we would sneak in and grab the stone and leave without any delay!"

"That's right, Miss. Wednesday! Are you ready for the promotions after this mission?!" Mr. 9 cheerfully asked and Vivi nodded her head with false excitedly.

'After this mission, I might be able to trail after Miss. All Sunday and find out who is Mr. Zero!' Vivi mused with determined.

Location: Grand Line

A Few Days Later…

Vivi is glad that she and Mr. 9 has the Eternal Pose for the island, without it, it would take weeks to reach the destination. Fortunately, Mr. 9's ship is light and fast on the Grand Line sea. She decided to leave Carue back on the Whiskey Peak with Igaram since this mission tends to be very dangerous. Vivi wouldn't forgive herself if anything happens to her loyal companion. At the helm as she glanced at the Eternal Pose for hundredth times.

Her chocolate eyes overlook the sea until it landed on the island. "Mr. 9! I can see the island!" she called out, cheerfully.

"Really?! That's great, we've been stuck on this ship for a while, I need to get on the land and stretch properly, otherwise, my figure would ruin, baby!" Mr. 9 jerked his hair away, dramatically.

Vivi mentally sweatdropped as she smirks at him. "I understand how you feel, Mr. 9!" she replied then glanced at the island. When they have gotten closer, Vivi could understand why this island is called, Three Sisters Towhead.

The island itself has three tall feminine-like matching faces that seem to be holding hands around with the large river in the middle. On both sides are filled with large jungles. There are noises coming from the distance once the ship docked by the land. Vivi tilted her head to the direction where the uproars from. "It sounds like a battle going on in there, Miss. Wednesday!" Mr. 9 jumped off after he anchored the ship.

"Right you are, Mr. 9!" Vivi followed him, as they both picked up their bazooka gun over their shoulders. "While they are distracting, we must get that stone!"

Mr. 9 nodded his head. "Of course! Where would this stone be?" he frowned with confused and Vivi shook her head. He never pays attention to details on the document, which is probably why she is paired up with him for missions.

"It's in the village, Mr. 9." The princess took out a photo that was with the folder before. "This is the stone we need to take." Mr. 9 leaned forward, examined the stone from the picture. It's a teardrop shape stone that made of sapphire.

"What a precious gem, baby! It would make a fabulous necklace for you, Miss. Wednesday!"

Vivi fluttered her eyes with false flirtatious smirked. "Why thank you for the compliment, Mr. 9! Unfortunately, this goes to the boss."

"That is indeed unfortunate. Oh well, I'm sure we'll find other gorgeous gemstones that match your looks, and maybe something that could match my appearance as well, baby!" Mr. 9 said, with eager.

The princess winks. "Sounds like a perfect idea!" she said, copy Mr. 9's eager as well.

"Then, let's go!"

Vivi and Mr. 9 hide behind the bushes as they watched in horror at the battle inside of the village. There were bodies everywhere, women, children, and elders. Most of the men are up and fighting against each other with swords and spears. They were shouting battle cries, while there are a few survivors such as women in tears, children hiding as they were covered in blood, and elders hopelessly stuck on the ground. 'This is awful… this… would this be like back to my country? The battle goes on, innocent int eh crossfire… unnecessary deaths?' Vivi clenched her fists as she attempts to push back her tears. There is no time for being emotional.

"How dreadful." Mr. 9 shuddered with some sympathy. Then he observed the village until his eyes landed on the temple. "Do you think the stone is in there, Miss. Wednesday?" he pointed at the temple.

The princess snapped out of it and glanced over the temple where Mr. 9 was pointed at. She hummed. "I believe so, Mr. 9."

Soon, the bounty hunters sneaked toward to the temple, away from prying eyes and ears in silently. When they reached for the temple, it was a rather simple grey stone with dark brown double doors, and the wall is covered with red paints in Aztec patterns.

Vivi and Mr. 9 glanced each other with a nod. "On one, two, three, baby! We'll open the doors!" Mr. 9 said.

"Got it, Mr. 9." 'Although, won't it catch their attention?' Vivi mused with concerned.

"One…two…three… Baby!" the bounty hunters kicked the doors opened and Mr. 9 ran inside. Vivi hesitant, she glanced over her shoulder and was surprised that no one heard them. She assumed they are too focused on the battle. She shook her head, follow Mr. 9 quickly inside of the temple. Unknowingly, there's a pair of eyes watching them in the shadow.

Inside of the temple, the ground is covered with red carpet, in the middle of the room is a platform with a stand. A red small cushion was on the stand, show off the glamour gemstone. Vivi immediately recognized the stone. "Mr. 9! We have found the stone!"

"You're right, Miss. Wednesday!" Mr. 9 beamed happily. "To think this mission is hard?" he snorted. "It's so easy for both of us! We will finally get promotion after this, baby!" he skipped toward the stand. Meanwhile, Vivi froze when Mr. 9 mentions something that sparks her interested.

'Wait… black is the color code for a top-secret and dangerous mission. Even higher numbers have difficult to accomplish this type of mission. This is… way too easy.' Vivi mused with suspicion.

Mr. 9, unaware Vivi's turmoil, continued babbled. "To think we're this strong and skillful to do this." He grinned widely with proud when he finally got close to the target. He reached for it as Vivi suddenly got cold chill with realized.

"Wait, Mr. 9!" she protected, however, it was too late that Mr. 9 picked up the stone. The princess gulped nervously when the stand starts shaking, then the temple followed soon. Mr. 9 yelped in alarmed as the entire temple is at earthquake.

"What is going on?!"

Vivi stumbled across the room as she attempts to balanced herself. "It's a trap!" she answered in panicked. The tiny pieces of rocks fell from the ceilings while cracks appeared on the wall as it grew and grew, and the ground was shaking wild.

Then suddenly, a chill, ominous aura came behind Vivi. The princess was paralyzed with petrified as she heard the muttered of a foreign language. She could see Mr. 9 paled, rattled with fearful eyes as he stared something behind her. Slowly, Vivi turned her head over her shoulder and her eyes shrink in shocked and horror.

Behind her, is a small bald child with grey skin, empty sockets, and only wear a leather brown loincloth. The child was muttering in rapid speed. It got louder, louder, and louder that forced the bounty hunters to cover their ears and shut their eyes. The voice from the child was high-pitched, raspy and bloodcurdling.

An eerie silence appeared out of nowhere. Vivi blinked when she noticed the earthquake stopped and there's no screeching voice. She uncovered her ears, turned around to see a child behind her but, it was empty. She jerked her head around in her surrounding with cautioned, edgy and confused. Vivi shook her head, quickly run toward to Mr. 9 who has fainted with foams coming out of his mouth.

The princess was in relief to see Mr. 9 is safe but dreaded the thought of carrying him out of the island on her own. Before she even thinks of helping Mr. 9, she paused when her eyes landed on the sapphire stone nearby. Viv reached for it, picked up and carefully examined the stone with thoughtful. 'I wonder what's so important about this? And what was that kid?' she mused with a shudder in fear.

It was a terrifying experience for her. Vivi clutched the stone in hand while attempt to wake Mr. 9 in hope so she doesn't have to carry him.

"Vi…vi…"

The blue-haired girl halted, she snapped her head behind her, "Who's there?!" she demanded with nervous. Her eyes scanned around the empty temple except her and Mr. 9.

"…delicious soul…" Vivi shivered in frightening. She stood up as she took out her Peacock Slasher. Vivi could feel close moisture fell from her forehead and shivered from the chill air and white, the misty fog came out of her mouth.

"Yummyyummyuyummy" the creepy voice came out. The princess turned around, in hope to spot where the voice comes from.

"Hungryhungryhungryhungry!" She held on the stone tighter while her other hand carried her weapon, give a twirled.

"MIIINNNNNEEEEEE!" Vivi cringes at the high-pitch as she dropped her knees, unaware the stone shines brightly as she covered her ears in an attempt to prevent having her eardrum burst. Her eyes widen when sockets eyes from a child appeared right at her face. A creepy toothless grinned spread on his face as his hands grasped her neck. Vivi choked with horrified while the child cackled, leaned closer to her then the stone shines brightly, blinded Vivi.

Mr. 9 groaned as he gains consciousness. He blinked slowly, adjusted the light blue sky. Then he snapped out of it as he sat up when he remembered. "Oh no! Miss. Wednesday!" he called out in fear, worried and confused. When did he get here at the beach? What happened back at the temple? And what was with that scary child?! He shudders when he clearly remembered the horror. And where's the stone?!

He looked around with cautioned and worried. When his eyes landed on the familiar figure, laying on the sand. Mr. 9 gasped with horror. "Miss. Wednesday!" he ran toward her with worried. He bends down, gently shake the blue-haired girl up before he examined her. Her clothes were torn and battered, her bare skin is covered with bruises and cuts, and the silver bead that normally tied her hair up is gone.

"Miss. Wednesday… are you okay? Please wake up!" However, it was futile and Mr. 9 sighed. He noticed a teardrop stone close by, he reaches and grabbed it. "Oh!" it's the same object they are supposed to retrieve for the boss. Although, the color seems to be very dim. He shrugged his shoulders and pocket it in his jacket. "Mission accomplished. Good work Miss. Wednesday." He said, softly.

Mr. 9 carefully picked the blue-haired girl, with her arm over his shoulder and his other arm wrapped around her waist. He carefully dragged the unconsciousness girl toward his ship.

When he arrived at his ship, he climbed onboard and take Miss. Wednesday to the chamber. Mr. 9 gently put her onto her bed, covered her with a blanket and clicked his tongue. "I knew I should've gotten the get new medical supplies. But I didn't have enough time to do that…" he grumbled, it seems that he'll have to go to the next island and resupply the medical kit. Mr. 9 left the chamber, to the deck, prepare to leave the island and far away from the scary child.

Island: Three Sisters Towhead

Meanwhile

The sun shines happily on the island, the battle just stopped as the vengeful and aggressive vanished. The men blinked with bewildered when they dropped the weapons. Women cried with relief while children hugged each other, and elders are recused. One of the elders turned to the temple, it was destroyed, only left with rubble. He frowned deeply, he remembered saw a man and a woman went inside the temple.

"Wh-what happened?"

"…the curse… is gone?"

"W-we're free!"

"YES!"

"FREEDOM!"

The Survivors cried with joyful to be free from the dark curse. While the elder stared at the temple, then he held his pant tugged. He glanced down and saw a little girl staring blankly up at him. "Where did he go?" the little girl whispered with confused.

The elder man knew who she is talking about. "…he left with someone."

"….they'll die." She blurted out emotionless.

The elder man closed his eyes, pat the little girl's head gently as he tips his head back. Feelings the warm sunlight touching his face. "….I know." He feels guilty and ashamed that whoever caught the curse, is doomed to death. However, there's a small hope inside his heart. "However, the stone reacted and is protecting someone."

"Not for long." The little girl said, gravely.

And the elder man couldn't help but agreed with her. Whoever this person, has a curse and is fated to die unless the darkness changes its mind. 'I am so sorry.' He mused, sending his apology to whoever caught the curse yet grateful for save the village.

It may be very selfish of him, of the villagers, but he wants to live. He and the rest of the villagers want to survive and live their life. They don't want to die, they are not ready to leave the world. Selfish, but they are human beings, after all.

Couple Days Later…

Mr. 9 parked the ship near the dock, anchored it and went to check on Miss. Wednesday then quickly left the ship to the town for resupply.

While he is at the town, back in the ship where the blue-haired girl is resting on her bed. Her fingers twitch, as her eyelids shifted, and a small groan released her mouth. Slowly, she fluttered her eyes open, blinked away the blurriness and stared at the cream ceiling.

She turned her head to her side, observed the room blankly then pushed herself up as she cringes in pain. Her entire body is sore and some of the wounds look infection. Her clothes are ruined, and her hair is dirty, covered with sands, dirt, and dried blood.

Icy, cold filled inside of her that she shivered as she hugged herself. Why is she so cold? Where all these wounds come from? Why is she in so much pain? Where is she? What is this place? What does she look like? How old is she? And most of all…

"…who am I?" she whispered in lost.
