Daphne Greengrass was a good little pure-blood witch, who was supposed to pop out little pure-blood children and was faithful to her husband or in this case, husband-to-be. And while she enjoyed turning up at functions and parties with Marcus, it wasn't enough. Not nearly enough. No Daphne wanted a companion who was sophisticated and elegant and poised and most importantly, female.
In short, someone like Narcissa Malfoy. Who, as it so happens, was currently snogging Daphne as she slowly started to undress the younger woman.
Suddenly, there was the sound of keys in the door and the two women quickly broke apart.
"It's Lucius!" Narcissa gasped in surprise. "He's not supposed to be back yet! Get dressed, quickly!"
It was perhaps fortunate that Narcissa had only managed to undo Daphne's blouse and had not moved any further, for no sooner that Daphne had done up her blouse than Lucius stormed into the room.
"Those blasted fools on the board seem to think that I'm a bad image for their business interests!" Lucius snapped angrily as he threw aside his travelling cloak and sitting down. "Just because I dared to back the ri-" Lucius suddenly paused as he realised that Daphne was there.
"Lucius, may I introduce Daphne Greengrass, a pure-blood Slytherin girl who is helping me go through the details of my recently deceased uncle," Narcissa said smoothly and Daphne internally marvelled at how smoothly Narcissa lied to her husband. Lucius raised an eyebrow.
"Working for Liscifle solicitors?" he asked and Daphne nodded. "From a good family as well. The Greengrass family has a long history."
"It does indeed sir," Daphne replied demurely, looking away from him. "And I am proud to be of assistance to such an illustrious family such as the Malfoy's."
"And congratulations on your engagement to Mr Flint," Lucius continued and Daphne smiled.
"Thank you sir."
"I am sure you will make one another very happy, as Narcissa and I have been," he added as he leaned forward and gave Narcissa a quick kiss.
"I'm sure we will," Daphne replied as she resisted the twin urges to laugh at Lucius and simultaneously hex him for daring to presume to kiss the woman she loved. She flexed her hands slightly.
"Perhaps we can continue this at another time?" Narcissa suggested and Daphne nodded.
"Yes, perhaps at my office tomorrow?" she asked. Where we can continue undisturbed? was the subtext. Narcissa gave her a poised smile.
"Tomorrow should do nicely," she replied, her eyes twinkling. "Let me show you to the door."
As they stood at the doors of the mansion, Narcissa and Daphne smirked as one.
"That was close," Daphne said with a slight chuckle and Narcissa's smirk grew.
"Ah, but that's half the fun," she replied with a chuckle. "So tomorrow then?"
"At ten," Daphne added, before leaning closer. "Don't forget your whip. Farewell!"
"Farewell!" Narcissa shouted after her as she walked away and Daphne allowed herself a small shiver of pleasure. She really shouldn't be having an affair with a married witch, but Narcissa was so enticing and the illicit nature of the affair made it so much spicier.
Narcissa smiled as she watched Daphne walk away. The thought of getting one over her husband was something she relished, especially since he had allowed the Dark Lord to mercilessly exploit and hurt Draco the way that he did. But with Daphne, it was so much more, a genuine attraction between them that she was beginning to value more than her own husband. But she wished with all her heart that she wasn't afraid to take the next step.
