Disclaimer: I don't own anything to do with JONAS.

AN: I'm sure a lot of people saw 'Chasing the Dream' and ran away with a tonne of ideas in their heads because the Kevin/Macy was just so good! This is the pointless stuff that I came up with. Feedback is always appreciated.

Kevin Lucas hated to see a girl cry. All because of that one time he had to tell that one girl the truth about that one thing.

"Well? Do you?" she asked, shaking the object in front of him.

He looked at it more closely before deciding it was the most horrifying thing he had ever seen in his life. He looked from the…'thing' to her again. Her brown eyes bore into his and were slightly narrowed at him.

"Well?" she demanded.

He took a deep breath before answering. He had been taught not to lie after all. "I think it's horrible," he said, not wanting to mention the fact that it was scary too; he did have a reputation to uphold after all.

He looked at her and watched in horror as her brown eyes widened and filled with tears. She took a deep breath and he stuck his fingers into his ears as she began screaming.

"Mommy! Kevin said he doesn't like my Barbie!" This was followed by crying and stamping feet as she stormed away. Kevin took his fingers out of his ears to hear his little brother giggling.

"Kevin made a girl cry!" Joe exclaimed in delight.

Kevin sighed. He hadn't wanted to hurt her feelings, but he wasn't going to lie. And he hated seeing girls cry - he hated even more when they cried because of something he had said.

It was Stella that solved his problem - sort of.

"My Daddy hated my Mommy's new haircut but he told her he liked it because he didn't want to hurt her feelings," she told Kevin very seriously. Kevin studied this new information and decided that Mr. Malone was a genius. At least that way, he wouldn't have to see girls crying. And, he was lying for a good reason, he thought. He was so absorbed in his thoughts that he didn't hear Stella finish the story. "Of course, Mommy found out anyway and she wasn't very happy with Daddy," she finished, sighing dramatically.

Kevin was perfectly happy with this solution - he would rather be in trouble for lying than for making a girl cry. The fact that his voice went funny when he did lie didn't really bother him.

It was several years later that he really began to regret that idea as he watched another pair of brown eyes fill up with tears. This wasn't followed by a stamping tantrum, but when Macy walked away from him after he tried to call her back, he decided this was a thousand times worse than a screaming, stamping tantrum.

Kevin Lucas definitely did not like to see girls cry, but seeing Macy cry was just a little bit worse than seeing any other girl cry.

Of course, if it had been any other girl, she would have been mad at Kevin for days and would have felt some sort of satisfaction that he felt bad. At least, that was what he thought.

But looking at the sadness in Macy's eyes as she realised he felt really bad because of her, he decided to change tactics.

Kevin Lucas hated to see a girl cry because he didn't know how to comfort her. But an upset Macy Misa wasn't necessarily a bad thing - he had sort of figured out how to deal with her.

Telling Stella that he hated her jumper was a different matter altogether.
