He wakes up from a very deep sleep –
Feels as though he's been sleeping forever,
Which is kind of strange
But that's not the only thing bothering him,
He can't remember anything.
And when he says anything,
He means everything -
All his memories are gone;
All but one:
One face,
One name:
Annabeth.
Blonde curls, stormy gray eyes:
Intimidating, yet beautiful.
He only knows one fact –
She is his girlfriend,
His best friend.
He knows that she's extremely important to him,
But nothing else.
He remembers no one else:
Not even his mum,
Or his father,
Or any of his other friends.
She was his only comfort,
His motivation,
The only memory from his past.
But she's not the only thing he has:
He was attached to his bright orange shirt,
His beaded necklace felt significant,
But he could not grasp the reason,
His pen that can morph into a celestial bronze sword kept him alive,
Perfectly balanced in his hands,
Never failing to aid him in battles.
The limited belongings and memories
Never depressed him,
But only fuelled his determination to find his life once more.
He is terrified,
Freezing cold in front of a ruined building,
With no memories but one,
No possessions besides his clothes, necklace and sword;
But this gives him a purpose,
So he channels it into passion.
And yes,
He will rediscover his past.
