Challenge Word: Clean
A/N1: This drabble did not turn out as intended. Originally, it was supposed to incorporate the phrase "squeaky clean" and describe Dean cleaning the Impala. That got me thinking about the beautiful montage in Season 5's Free to Be You and Me when Dean washed vamp blood off the Impala's hood, which made me think of the Season 1 Dead Man's Blood conversation between Sam, Dean, and the very sexy Daddy Winchester when they talked about vampires not existing, which made me wonder WHY vamps are so popular all of a sudden. I mean, think about it... up until late Season 1, Sam and Dean had never even heard of a real vampire case. Since then, vampires been used pretty frequently, which seems odd for a formerly never-seen baddie. Hence, the birth of this drabble. Aren't you glad granted you this peek into a tiny corner of my messed up brain? You're welcome. :D
A/N2: Did you notice that my first note is even longer than my drabble?!
The unrelenting sun beat down on a blink-and-you'll-miss-it town of 533 people. And, until yesterday, a nest of vampires.
Long ago, the Winchesters lumped vampires up there with unicorns and Santa Claus on the list of nonexistent supernatural creatures. These days, fangs seemed to pop up everywhere. Perhaps this resulted from the deaths of vamp hunters Daniel Elkins and Gordon Walker. Sam and Dean didn't know, and honestly didn't care.
Sitting on the Impala's hood while parked under a shade tree, the tired brothers clinked their beer bottles, toasting the success of another nest cleaned out. A helluva good day!
