"You are every person's ever after…you are the eternity that is life after living…"

Adam inhaled, his eyes scanning over the sleeping child's body. She spoke so softly to him, a poetic acid still burned in his mind, echoed with her words, and her delicate touch.

"I felt you, Adam. The cold embrace that was Death. I felt the you hold me tight, wrapping me up in your arms until you stole my breath from me, and then my pulse…you let me slip away from you, with one last icy kiss where a lifeless heart was, upon my lips your name stayed as I fell away from my sanity; as I fell away from you."

He leaned over the girl, sandy curls covering her uncolored face. They felt like silk as he pushed them away, pulled back the curtains to see the light of her delicate features. Smooth curves that were her cheeks, the shallow valleys of the creases between her furrowed brows, and lips that rolled, pink and sultry into one and other, never parted.

"I wasn't scared you know. You were with me the whole time, Death is an eternal companion. You will never be away from me dear Adam, my demise will stay, as will you. This, is much the same for everyone else…yes. You are everyone's forever, aren't you?"

He wished that she would be a child for once. A smiling fragile doll who loved to hold onto him when she slept. He wished that she would forget how old she had really become, and slinked under the covers with him when she was afraid.

"But you found me…"

Her crystalline blue eyes opened, thick folds of eyelashes kissing her skin.

"You saved me."
