Disclaimer: I own my dreams my hopes and my self, but I unfortunately
do not own either "The Secret Garden" film, or "The Secret Garden"
book. However I do all of the ideas below and if you steal them there's
nothing I can do about it.
Notes: First chapter is pretty boring but I plan on producing a long
story based after the film.
Chapter 1
Time had passed in Mistlethwaite manor, but yet the garden
remained the same. She missed her childhood where she could play
freely in the garden, but now she was older and things weren't the
same for her. But Sarah liked the constancy of the garden and the
peace it always brought her. Whenever she was troubled the garden
had proved to be a place of freedom.
But she couldn't stay in garden forever and she got up and
walked back to the house. She had missed the house in her time away,
but she had been home now for a while and she didn't have to go back
to Cornwall.
Sarah had enjoyed school, and she had made friends with the
other girls, but she was always dreaming about the garden and wondering
about the roses, daffodils and warm buzz that there always was there.
Her uncle had not liked her going away, but coming back had
always been more enjoyable for each of them as he was always spoiling
her with expensive presents as he did with Colin.
In the eight years since her parents deaths, she had never once
felt sad about it. She felt guilty at times for thanking God that they
were dead, for it was only after their deaths that she had started to
live.
She and Colin had started their lives at the same time; both
of the helping the other and the garden guiding her.
But she was older now and nice dresses got dirty in the garden.
Her uncle had been incredibly shocked at how much she had changed.
She looked so much like his wife that it was not suprising that he
treated her so much. When she smiled he was reminded of his wife and
because of her he had learnt to live again and to love his son.
But deep down he knew that he would always love Sarah more than his
own son.
Poor Colin, he didn't seem to realise that he was second best
and that his dear cousin would always be treasured above all else.
But Lord Craven knew that one day he would have to let her go. SHe was
too special to be kept in the cage that was Mistlethwaite manor. At
the moment she enjoyed it, but she was still a child.
But soon she would become a woman, and she would fall in love
and leave him. But he was going to make sure that the man who had her
deserved her. She was far too special for anyone, she was a princess
and nothing other than a life that suited a pricesses lifestyle would
suit her.
In that sense he knew that he had spoilt her but her education
and nice clothes would make her happy. He wanted her to be happy more
than anything in the world.
But he was going to have to let her go and it was going to have
to be this year.
He was going to take her and Colin to London for the summer and he was
sure that there she would stay. For she was far too beautiful to be
ignored by all of the men there.
