Author's Prenote: I found myself disgusted at the horrible writing and horrendous recent episode and out of frustration I wrote all this in one sitting. Enjoy.

Story description: The last time Jon Snow broke a vow it was because his heart told him to. This time, it was because everything in the world told him to. An alternate ending to Game of Thrones that I'm sure will be better than anything the series has planned to air in a week. Spoilers for the entire series so far.

I Win (Chapter One of Two)

Lord Yohn Royce stood up amongst all the shouting and yelling in the head camp of the allied armies stationed outside the ruins of Kings Landing. He spoke loudly as he pointed up to where Jon Snow sat at the head table. "I'd like to say something!"

All the men listened as Yohn Royce of the Vale cleared his throat. "I lost more men to that dragon than I ever would've to the Lannisters."

"Aye!" the men echoed along with other cheers.

"The day was won, and she would've sat peacefully upon the Iron Throne...but the Dragon Queen burnt down the city and with it..." Yohn Royce held back tears, strange to do so for a knight. "The most loyal men who'd come to fight for her."

"Along with thousands of others!" shouted a soldier, much to the appreciation of the men in the tent.

"She holds the city! How long before we see that dragon flying over us burning us all to the ground!?" another man shouted as the men around him agreed.

Jon gripped his seat. "I vowed to fight for Queen Daenerys , and I won't break that vow based on fear."

"But it's a real fear!" said another man.

The rabble of fear grew and Ser Davos spoke in Jon's ear. "Either say something to please them soon, or you might find them all marching off home."

"Her numbers are spent!" a man yelled as more 'ayes' preceded. "We should march on them and reclaim the Iron Throne!"

Jon Snow shook his head. "She has thousands of Dothraki and the Unsullied. She could hold us for years, and in a siege, she'd burn us all."

More rabble broke out from this in the tent and Jon stood up and silenced it. "You all chose to follow me. You all chose me to lead you all into battle, for my honor."

"And it is for that honor that you should be king. Not Daenerys ." Ser Davos stood up and the entire tent cheered. He pointed at Jon who felt his hands roll into fists. "As Daenerys Stormborn burnt down King's Landing! Jon Snow defended it! He avenged the Red Wedding, and saved the wildlings! He fought for our lives at the battle of Winterfell! He saved thousands while Daenerys killed thousands! He was brought back from the dead! For one reason, and it's never been clearer after today!" Davos raised his finger into the air. "To save the Seven Kingdoms!"

As the tent roared in agreement as Jon felt something snap in him. Ser Davos was right. Jon Snow never wanted the Iron Throne. But at that moment, seeing every captain he lead into King's Landing cheer for him to be king, he understood that if his whole life he did what he thought was right, and even died for it. Then why shouldn't he live on to break his vow for it?

Jon responded by nodding. "I remember the last time I broke an oath was to the Night's Watch. For a wildling girl named Ygritte. I promised myself I'd never again go back on my word." he looked Davos in the eyes. "Until now."

As they cheered Jon nodded again. "I will be your King. I will take the throne."

More cheering presumed in the tent as Davos spoke. "Sorry m'lord, but how? We can't all go marching to our deaths."

Jon shook his head. "We won't have to."

"What?" Davos asked.

"Daenerys trusts me. She trusts all of us. We marched into the city for her after all." said Jon. "We'll plan an ambush. I'll meet with Daenerys and kill her...and then we march in and claim the city."

"What about her dragon? And her guards?"

Jon shook his head. "If I die to save the kingdoms, then it would have been worth it."

"You won't have to." Davos shook his head. "I know every crook and crevice in Flea Bottom, and have been smuggling for years. I can sneak our men in overnight and storm the castle and protect you while you fight off her Unsullied and run to the outside of the keep to meet us. We have spearmen, we can form spear walls at choke points in the streets to hold back the Dothraki as our men take the Red Keep."

"And Drogon?" asked Jon.

"Doesn't it sleep during the night? If we have her meet with you tomorrow night, we might just have a fighting chance by facing it on the ground," added Davos.

A knight from the vale chuckled out a suggestion. "There's nothing like good steel in that dragon's eye to avenge all those she slaughtered!"

Jon turned to Davos as the men cheered. "We'll need our best pikemen to hold them back, I've heard Dothraki can leap a yard off horses." He turned back to the men and drew his sword from its sheath. "Come with me and let's take this city!"

The men in the camp tent cheered as they raised their swords with Jon.
