"Jeez, it's raining cats and dogs out there!"
Astral and Yuuma were sitting by the window. Outside, water droplets pitter pattered onto the window pane, whooshing down the glass as though it were a race. The ground and flora outside looked drenched, and everything glistened in the midsummers rain.
Astral raised his eyebrows.
"Cats and dogs?" he asked. "It most certainly isn't raining cats and dogs…" Yuuma turned to his friend, a pained expression on his face.
"No, well, I don't mean literally…" Yuuma replied. Astral looked directly at him, and looked utterly confused.
"Then what could you mean? I'm afraid I don't understand." Yuuma sighed and folded his arms.
"It's a metaphor! An expression!" the child blurted. "It's like you describe something as something it's not!"
"So would I describe you as a 'good duelist', and that would be a metaphor?"
"N-No.. no!" Yuuma shouted, caught by shock from Astral's poke at him. "Not like that!"
"I'm not convinced I'm able to comprehend these 'metaphors', Yuuma." Astral replied, holding his chin. "It seems a little complicated." Yuuma looked a little miffed for a moment but slowly it turned into a smile.
"Well then, I'll just have to make sure not to use any metaphors around you, then!" he grinned. Astral smiled a little.
"It would be very strange indeed if it did rain cats and dogs, though."
