AUTHORS NOTE: Heres a short little one-shot I had to do for class just with different names! Enjoy!
The doctor emerged from the emergency room with a stunned look on his face. All of the people in the room looked on at the doctors pained expression with dreadful looks in their eyes. The outcome of the sudden life or death last minute surgery couldn't have gone well.
FLASHBACK!
The small two year old child named Tobi Uchiha was just discharged from the examining room. He was just diagnosed with an incurable lung disease. Poor Tobi only was given life until he was around the age of 17. His whole family was there.
Tobi's mother had a sneaking suspicion that her son had something wrong. Tobi was always coughing, whether it be dry coughing or coughing up blood. He would have at least one or more major coughing fits per day. Having it confirmed by an official doctor just made it all the worse.
The mother was having a mental debate on when she would tell little Tobi about his 'troubles'. Tobi left the room before the doctor spoke, still too naïve, to know and understand what was going on.
'Maybe I should tell him when I feel the time is right? Who knows when that'll be.' The mother thought. Imagine you were a mother who would have to tell her son that he would never live to be 18, to never have the privileges of an adult. I would imagine it would be the hardest thing you would ever say.
The mother finally ended the mental debate by deciding that she would tell her son a few days after his 16th birthday. That way Tobi can live however he wants without the gruesome knowledge that death was looming right over your shoulder.
"Mommy what's going on?" Tobi asked, innocence brightly shining in his onyx eyes for he had no clue what major point his whole life would be built around.
"Oh nothing little Tobi," 'Nothing you need to know about yet,' Mother added mentally. It pained her heart so much to lie to her dear son. She couldn't even begin to imagine the heartache it will bring when she must tell Tobi's 2 month old younger brother, Izuna.
END FLASHBACK!
The doctor shook his head no. At that point the tears started to flow down the cheeks of many. All the tears that have been waiting to flow came, suddenly, in such drastic amounts. All the while Tobi was in the room barely hanging onto the last string of life but it was fading fast. Everyone came in to say goodbye.
'Wha-what? But I'm not dead! Why are you all saying goodbye? I'm not dead darn it!' Tobi thought. By that time he was already dead but did not yet notice it. The last person who came in was no other than Tobi's dear mother.
"I'm so sorry Tobi! I-I wish th-there was m-more I could've d-done!" Tobi's mother practically shouted out amidst her hysteric crying.
'But Mom can't you see I'm not-' Tobi paused mid-sentence and looked down. There he saw his own body. He was floating! 'W-wait! Is that my body down there?' He took one more look down and verified it as his dead corpse. 'Hn, guess that means I really am dead. Let me hear out my mother's final words.'
"I sh-should've told you about your disease s-sooner." Mother announced finally slowing down her hysterics into mere sobs here and there.
'What else is there that you haven't told me? Maybe that I was born in a foreign country or had an underlying illness perhaps?' Tobi thought anger coursing through his veins.
"I'm so sorry. For everything." She said tears finally coming to a complete stop. Tobi's mother walked out of the room with one final farewell tear slipping down her cheek.
'So I guess this is farewell mother.' Tobi thought wondering if it was just going to end with that.
'Goodbye. Everyone.' With that thought Tobi drifted off into the other world.
So that's the little one-shot. Short I know. I hope you liked it! Review!
