"You should really make him stop," Kakei said in an almost considering tone, not looking at the member of Team America harassing Maruko, but just past.
"And why should I do that?" he asked, amused.
The tall linebacker turned her intense blue eyes on him before saying, "Have you heard of ogres grinding their victims' bones to make bread?"
He waited for an explanation, but she seemed determined to continue with her fairytale tangent, waiting patiently for him to answer. "Yes," he answered.
"Her boyfriend is something like that," Kakei replied amidst the ominous sound of breaking bone before walking off.
When he turned back, his teammate was on the ground, howling in pain, as a beast of a man picked up Maruko's jacket and dusted it off, settling it over the quarterback's shoulders.
"Thank you, Gaou," Maruko murmured. With a sigh, she leaned over to pick up her empty coke bottle. "That's the end of this one, I'd say."
"The coke? Or the spermless bastard who thought he could touch you?" Gaou asked, voice an amused growl.
"Mm. Both, I'd say," Maruko replied, and her smile was a raptor's smile, sharp and dangerous. She nodded in acknowledgment at him before they left. As they walked away, she muttered something that sounded suspiciously like, "What have I told you about giving away information to other teams?"
The next day, he found the locker room full of flowers.
