Disclaimer: I don't own Bones!

Author: writingforthemoney (Tied)

Summary: Poem about Disclaimers. Inspired by a disclaimer that read, "I don't own them. Why doesn't someone just make a song out that?" I can't remember the author of that.

A/N: This started out as a Disclaimer poem… but transpired into something… a tad different… a Thank you of sorts…? Hope you like!

Disclaimer: I don't own Bones!

I'd like to have Booth as my knight

And Brennan as my teacher

Angela as my friend

And Hodgins and Zack

Giving me useless information

All the day long.

What would we do without

The Squint Squad and

The Sexy FBI?

Without the dutiful fans to whom

These lovely pieces of fiction are credited

The life of our friends above

Could very well be ruined.

Angela and Hodgins would realize their love;

But never follow through.

Zack would never find that one certain someone

That he can love.

Booth and his precious Bones would

NEVER get together.

And without us, the wonderful fans

Cam and Booth, would still be an item

For t'was us, through all our writings

That convinced the writers to break that up

FAST! (At least that's what I like to think!)

The ownership papers have been lost,

Fox stole the idea from us,

And Kathy Reichs didn't do it on her own;

Are just a few of the excuses

For our lack of ownership.

But what would we do without

The true writers,

The true owners?

We wouldn't be inspired

We wouldn't be required

To write the fluff, action and romance

That the writers love to replace with angst.

We the fans may want to be the writers,

But let's face it,

If they gave us everything we wanted,

We wouldn't have a reason to write.

So we may not be able to claim

Bones as our own, but the stories we write,

Will forever and always be ours;

Will forever and always be inspired by the true owners.

So on behalf of all the fans who write the true stories

Of Booth and Brennan,

Of Angela and Hodgins,

Of Zack's loves

And Cam's love life … or lack thereof,

I thank the creators,

The writers,

And the actors,

For giving us the basis of every word we write.

The End
