Fall, we do. They know.
"Would you rather it be…your enemy?" The voice was taut, hiding an unknown spell of angst. Yet, it was sensed nonetheless – from a hardened creature – bear-like, who had been watching its prey for the longest time and at the same time fearing its capabilities.
It was a woman who spoke; she lifted both hands and settled them onto her stomach – the allusion - absorbing the warmth from deep within.
"Snake-"
"That name died a long time ago…" The voice was heavy, sunken deep within a poignant darkness. The Bear is fearless at heart and constrained deeply by memories – both life and death – yet, unquestionably driven by those memories.
"I've offered myself – my body – so that NOTHING would be compromised." She carried on, staring down at her hands as they swept over the flesh.
He did not respond as his mouth grew comfortable nestling a cigar, however the mind yielded to the occurrence at hand - abstaining the motor impulse from igniting a lighter.
"You…you betrayed me. Youall did."
"Maybe so – but, my intentions are different." Tears form within the eyes as a stir rumbles within her core. "I assure you."
"Hmm." The eye is blue as the lowest depths of the world's mighty oceans. Its focus onto her face was much like the barrel of a blind man's rifle against the flesh of a dying carcass - although, it wasn't his bullet that caused the demise. For the first time, he felt blinded and there was a hopeless surge of rage and uncertainty followed by disgust at the inability to see and therefore understand, that which is directly in front of you. He moved his glare downward – onto the progeny – the unborn – the curve of her bulge and then back upon her face. His focus narrowed onto the tears that streamed down the immaculate angles of sin. Pure sorrow, remorse – though its exquisiteness made the emotion seem almost peaceful.
"It doesn't make any difference. It doesn't change anything – only, trust." He stands from his seat, walks toward the exit and suddenly halts to a turn, perhaps to gather her into his memory once more. "…And furthermore – the truth." He then proceeded on, leaving the dream behind. The monster, which he watched grow into a nightmare – Chaos that destroyed Peace.
