These are just a few feelings I had to write out before moving on with my life. Why must we wait another year and a half until IIX?

She kissed the bridge of his nose in the only way of an affectionate goodbye she could conjure and began walking away to her next mission. She stopped in the doorway like there were ropes holding her to the man on the bed behind her. She stared into the hall and took deep breaths. How could she leave him?

The last thing she heard coming from his lips was his tortured screams. He was stabbed in the right shoulder by a lingering saber defending her. Most of the flesh was burned from his body. The last thing she saw him doing was defending her in spite of his offended wound before falling unconscious from a vicious strike up his back. He remained unconscious for the next three days though all the doctors and nurses assured her he would awaken again. Someday. Eventually.

She was torn from her thoughts at the sound of her name being said behind her. She didn't believe it at first but couldn't deny it when she realized who was saying it.

"Finn?" She turned back to him and her eyes flooded with tears from hearing his voice again and seeing his eyes fight to open. "Finn, you're alright." She grinned as she took her seat beside him again putting one hand on his forehead and the other on his own that rested on his abdomen. "You're okay."

He struggled to focus his eyes and swallowed painfully, "Rey… what happened? I thought you... were dead… "

"Shh… I'm okay." She stroked his hair reassuringly. "Chewbacca came for us. We made it." She spoke louder than she meant to in her excitement and scanned the room quickly for eavesdroppers before remembering it didn't matter to her and looked back to his face. She heard him whisper her name again and she stroked his cheek carefully. "You're alright."

"I'm alright…" He repeated slowly and quietly. She could see his muscles relax and he squeezed her hand weakly before his half-lidded eyes closed fully again.

"You're alright…" She agreed and her surprising joy tugged at her lips once more. She took a deep breath and looked around her before turning back to him with a pained expression on her face. "Finn… I need to go now. I'm going to find Luke Skywalker and train to be a Jedi. I wasn't able to tell you before, but I have the strength of the Force on my side. It's difficult to explain, but that's how I was able to escape from the prison on Starkiller Base. It's how I found you… So, I need to leave now. I'll come back some day. Hopefully soon and you can meet Luke Skywalker too… Finn?"

She felt panic rising in her as she put her ear to his chest and to hear his steady heartbeat. She then lifted her head and put her hand above his nose and mouth to feel his breath. She took in a much needed breath and pulled away realizing he was asleep.

"You're alright." She whispered as much to herself as to him. She stayed a moment longer and regained her breath letting her lungs return to their normal pattern. She wouldn't see him again for a long time. She didn't know how long, but it would be long. "I'll see you again." She heard herself mutter, as if trying to convince herself.

She disentangled her hand from his and stood intent on finding a nurse and reporting on his recent improvement, but turned back once more and leaned her lips to his ear. "Thank you."
