Summary: A look at the fall of troy from a Trojan.
There isn't much else to say other than I wrote this four years ago for an English project.
Trojan Horse
Today was the worst day of my life though it was riddled with blessings from the gods. The day was a strange one. The news that the Greeks were leaving had spread like a brush fire. When the news came to my family and I we were not convinced. Who would the Greeks accept defeat now after ten years. They had left a wooden horse on your great cities doorstep. It was said to be and offering to Athena but it was the ugliest thing I had ever seen that had been crafted by Greeks. To me it looked like an over sized donkey. While my family was unconvinced most others were and the need for celebration was too great and the food stores were opened. The citizens flocked to the heart of the city and there was singing and dancing. From our small house my family could hear it all, the music and the laughter. Eventually both died down. My parents bade me to go and look outside after it had been quiet after some time. What I saw was too gruesome to describe. The Greeks were back and stabbing and cutting the thoughts of drunk and sleeping Trojans. Some, it looked like had died of drowning in their own blood. I rushed back to my parents and told them of what i saw and that they must start packing. Then i left. I had to find my sister she was a maid if Andromache. We met half way between the palace and our family home, in an alley that we had once raced down in our youth. She had allays won. I was slower but I was also stronger. My sister it seemed could run forever, she was like a grey hound, and she was built like one too. She was beautiful. When she saw my shadow she could somehow tell that it was me and not some blood thirsty canker blossom of a Greek. She ran full out at me, we embraced and made our way back to our home. We had to be careful not to be seen. When we arrived mother and father had finished packing our few positions into cloth bags. I thanked the gods that mother and father were still young enough to run. There was a group of people at one of the city exits. A wave of relief washed over our small family when they saw they were not Greek, they were Trojans. They told us that they were part of a group that was fleeing with Anis. They also told us of a house in the hills where they would meet once the last survivors were out of the city. All we had to do was follow the path. I das, Timandra, Selene and I started up the hill. Once the trees thinned we saw smoke or dust rising from the once proud city of troy. Our home was destroyed by the Greeks. We would have to make our home elsewhere.
