Something She Didn't Know
On a late Friday night two Fourth Year Gryffindors sat in the common room. Hermione and Ron sat in the writing their potions essays. Well, actually Ron was the only one actually working surprisingly enough. Hermione knew she should be focusing her attention on her school work but lately she could not stop dreaming about how great it would be if Ron would finally realized what he had in front of him. She knew that she wasn't the most gorgeous girls in Gryffindor let alone the whole school but she has some very good assets. She wanted to be noticed by Ron the same way Ginny wanted to be noticed by Harry. Hermione wanted Ron. Handsome, funny, perfectly annoying Ron.
As Ron worked on his essay, she just stared at him. She couldn't help it. This wasn't like her. At all. She wanted to be able to focus on her school work or help Ron without getting distracted. She couldn't handle too much more of this. She was supposed to be the brainy, studious one. But then again that was the problem. Ron didn't want a know-it-all for a girlfriend, he wanted the beautiful girl who would fall all over him.
"Mione, are you okay?" Ron asked.
"Wa- oh yeah."
"Why aren't you working on your essay?"
"I am, I am just thinking."
"Are you sure, because you have been staring off into space for the past 30 minutes…"
"Have you been staring at me?"
"No, I was going to ask you a question but you were staring off into space so I didn't want to interrupt you, you looked so at peace and beau-"
Before Ron could even finish his sentence Hermione was kissing him. He immediately started kissing back because this was what he had been dreaming of for four years. After what seemed like many perfect and happy days they broke apart.
"Sorry Ron. I shouldn't have just kissed you like that."
"Why? I have wanted to do that for four years."
"You what?"
"Yeah, that was what I was going to ask you; if you would like to go out with me."
"Ron, you have no idea how much that means. I have been keeping my feelings in."
"I was afraid that because you are so gorgeous, smart, and funny. I knew you were out of my league."
"Ha! That's funny! Why would I be out of your league? I am not all those things."
"Yes you are and so much more."
"Tell me something else I don't know."
"I love you."
"I love you too!"
They spent the rest of the weekend making up for their stupidity.
