The Life That Intrigues Us

James sat on his bed, wondering what to do. He wanted to talk to Aleks, but he wasn't sure why. Strong impulses were pushing him towards Aleks. Not knowing what to talk about, he pondered for a conversation starter. His feet kicked as his mind raced.

Aleks was Russian. Maybe he could make a conversation about that. What could he say, though? Ask a question? James sat up and thought about it. Then he smiled, and went into Aleks' room.

"Hey Aleks?" James rubbed the back of his neck.

"What?" Aleks turned to face him.

"Umm, how do you say 'you are gay' in Russian?" James looked down at the floor.

Aleks looked up at him confused, "Why?"

"I don't know, it could come in handy, I guess," the taller exclaimed, shrugging.

"In what situation, would saying 'you are gay,' in Russian, come in handy? Can you please explain to me what you're talking about?" Aleks asked with a chuckle.

"Aleks, I just want to know a simple answer to my question. Maybe I wanted to learn Russian? Did you ever think of that?" James shouted. He was trying not to seem too angry, but his notorious rage was coming out.

"Woah," Aleks stood up and put his hands up, "Damn, dude, calm down." James took a step back. "I just want to know, why you want to know what I know how to say," Aleks smirked.

"Are you screwing with me now?" James roared.

"Now James," he let out a chuckle," l-let's not get hostile." Aleks tried hard not to laugh.

"Can you just tell me, so I wont have to look at your face anymore. You look like your skin is melting into your eyeballs or something, man. It's gross." James said.

Aleks thought about it. He wasn't sure how to respond. His gaze turned to the mirror, wondering what was wrong with his face. There was nothing he could see.

"My face doesn't look like that," Aleks exclaimed.

"Yes it does! Now tell me how to say 'you are gay' in Russian!" James demanded.

"Oh my gosh, 'vy gey,' damn dude." Aleks said.

"Vy gey?" James repeated.

"Yes, vy gey," Alecks confirmed.

"Cool, thanks," James said before walking away. He cracked the door and started walking downstairs.

"Hey, wait! You still haven't told me why you need to know that!" Aleks shouted. There was no response. "Are you seriously just going to start a fight with me and then walk away? What just happened?"
