This is probably the longest chapter I would ever achieve, but since it is my first and foremost fanfic for the Chronicles o Narnia and the Lord of the Rings crossover, I guess it's fine. I have been quite into the Susan Pevensie and Legolas Greenleaf pairing lately and have noticed there are not much fanfics out there in honor of this wonderful couple. As fans may know, both are incredibly skilled archers and totally gorgeous, so it will be wrong for them not to be together. I understand my views are quite biased but who cares, they truly are amazing. I dunno how many people will read this but let me first give a simple introduction for it: (Despite it being quite angst-filled in this chapter, I foresee it to bear a happy ending.) The story happens after the Last Battle as Susan was left to face the pain all by herself. Aslan offers her a chance to redeem herself and accepts without knowing what the future holds.

Anyone would know Susan Pevensie was a rather hurt soul but none understood nor knew what pain she had encountered to be in such a position. Rather then picking up the courage to approach her and console and comfort her, they simply pitied her for having such a gorgeous face, long brown hair and a pair of mesmerizing blue eyes that told a really sad story. What they did not seem to get was how a young lady of 21 would fall into such a dark place.

Susan had always been considered the prettiest of the family: she had porcelain skin, freckles on her cheeks, flowing long mane and eyes that were as blue as the clear sky. Ever since the girl remembered, she had been chase after by boys, receiving mysterious gifts and letters that revealed deep admiration towards her. At first, she was scared. But the time soon came that she realized it was something to be proud and happy of. She enjoyed rejecting and turning down boys, knowing it would take a very special man for her to fall for. In no time, she became bored of this silly game and sought after her siblings to help pass time till she would one day fall in love.

What Susan, her elder brother, Peter, younger brother, Edward and younger sister, Lucy would play, often concerned fairy tales. They would create characters involving heroes and villains to act out. Pevensie children had been renowned for their mischief and naughtiness. Even when the war forced them to reside in the countryside to live with a Professor Kirke, their eagerness for adventure were not lessen. On the opposite, the fresh country air fueled them with energy that they had never felt before. It was when one day, during a hide and seek game that Lucy, the youngest of the bunch, discovered a whole new world behind a wardrobe.

As the most sensible and logic one among her siblings, Susan did not believe a word her sister said, thinking it was a childish act to get the other's attention. It was not until one day, when all four had to hide from the housekeeper for the mess they had made that they followed Lucy into the closet. As she felt a sudden cold breeze behind her back, did she realize she had mistaken the little girl all this time. Since that moment onwards, she knew something extraordinary would happen to all of them. It was true, for the four, with the help of Aslan the Great Lion, managed restore the place, Narnia, into the paradise it had once been. They were named the Kings and Queens of Narnia and sat at their thrones in Cair Paravel. In that country, the siblings lived for years, creating the Golden Age for Narnia. But as the Pevensies went on hunting one day, they were snatched back into the wardrobe and returned to the Professor's mansion as children that they once were despite being a whole lot older and wiser in mind.

The sensible mind of Susan urged her to move on with her life, so she did. When she finally recovered from the grief and brought back to reality, she was once pulled into the whole fantasy again along with her siblings. Their mission then was to help Narnians restore their kingdom by defeating the Telmarines. But with the help of Lucy's faith and Aslan showing up, she started to believe, believe that she was where she truly belonged, believe that she would never have to go through denial again, and most of all, believe she had found true love. The handsome Prince Caspian, with his wisdom, strength and tenderness, soon won over the Gentle Queen's heart. She was head over heels into him, and he to her. However, reality was once again cruel to her, she was told that Peter and her had learned enough and were never to return. So before finally returning to her home in England, she gave Caspian a light peck on the lips, for this, she truly regretted as it haunted her to this day.

Of course, the second blow was always more difficult to deal with, and in Susan's case, it was no exception. Things were much more complicated due to one factor, she had fallen in love (at least the nearest she had ever been). Nothing could bring her peace. Slowly, the gap between her siblings and her widen. They insisted Aslan and Narnia did happen but she chose to deny to protect herself from hurt. She began to remodel herself into your typical normal school girls who partied and stayed up late, not wanting to be reminded of the regal Queen of Old she was once considered to be. No one except for Lucy truly understood her, both knew that deep down, the old Susan was still there somehere, lost and in need of light and guidance. But all was too late for the third blow swept, all her family members died in a train crash: her parents, her cousin Eustace and her most beloved siblings.

Little did she know that they all went to Aslan's country and were waiting for her. Instead, she wept and wept till her tears dried out. She suffered from insomnia that left her thinking about the past that she refused to face in the middle of the night. Soon, she refused to leave her house unless necessary and began to quarantine herself from any social events, afraid that she would breakdown. The 21-year-old knew that being too strong and tough would be the downfall of her, but it was built in her genes and there was no solution to it.

One night, as she was contemplating about Caspian and smiling without her own notice at the amazing times they shared, her eyelids finally surrendered to tiredness after 4 whole days and she fell asleep. Suddenly, the image of her siblings came into her sight. They all seemed so happy. Then, a solemn voice asked: Do you not want to join them, my dear?

Susan thought for a while, searching from her memories to identify whose voice it belonged. It sounded so familiar and endearing that the girl could not help but gasp: Aslan!

"But how?" she asked.

"Despite the fact you feel loss, I know there is still faith in you buried somewhere deep down and so I'm giving you a chance!" The wise lion answered.

"What chance?"

"Do not doubt, Susan, simply believe."

Susan wanted to ask more but Aslan had already faded away, tearing her back to reality.

I'm quite happy with it so far and hope you do too. I don't know how this would develop, but I would love to hear your ideas. Could you suggest a time line in LOTR when Susan should arrive? I do not want to repeat the whole story of the Fellowship by just adding the Queen to the theme, so please kindly help me out! Anyways, good luck and wish to hear from you soon!
