Sam watched as his brother bustled about the room, getting ready for tonight's hunt in total silence. There was a time, once, when this ritual was their briefing, information flying back and forth, checks on the weapons.
But this silence was another sign of Dean's distrust. He knew the facts, knew the weaponry. Didn't need his traitor of a younger brothers opinions anymore.
And there was nothing Sam could do. It was only a matter of waiting out his brother, waiting for the other shoe to drop, for the time when Dean decided that maybe family wasn't worth the trouble.
