The (Cliché) Fateful Meeting

A loud roar echoed throughout the whole city of Tokyo. Although, only the people with the Sixth Sense could hear it. For those with weak Sixth Sense, they would cringe in fear when they heard the tremendous roar. For those with strong Sixth Sense – on the other hand – they would set out immediately to destroy the source of such a roar. Just like what the boy – who was currently speeding towards the source on the back of his Ninetails Fox Shikigami – was doing.

The boy had a short dark brown hair – which barely touching his shoulder, and a pair of onyx eyes. He was wearing a white muscle shirt under a black long coat, a pair of dark green jeans, and a pair of black boots. A Bear-Claw necklace was around his neck, a single Leaf shaped earring hung from his left ear, and a Sword that was wrapped in talismans was in his grip.

'The Oni (an Evil Spirit that had taken a solidified form) is just a few meters away. Be prepared, Yoh-sama.' The Fox said telepathically to her Master as she – while carrying the boy on her back – jumped from roof to roof in order to get to their destination place quicker, since they were in a hurry.

"Alright." Yoh replied as he stood up from his seating position, before crouching down on to get ready. Then, at the last jump that the Fox took, he jumped off of the Fox's back and landed on the roof of a building – which was above the road where the Creature that had caused the roar earlier was at. 'Kugou! Knock that Oni out of the main street!' He ordered telepathically as soon as his feet touched the roof.

It was the advantage of being the one who made the Shikigami, since he could command his Shikigami in his mind. Because of it, he didn't have to say the words out loud, so he could attack without alerting his target of what he was planning to do.

'Ryoukai (Understood)!' Kugou answered dutifully. She landed in front of the Oni and quickly rushing forward – using the momentum of her bounce to knock the Oni at its torso area, and thus throwing it out of the main street where there were many oblivious people, and far away into an empty alley.

"Good job." Yoh – who had gone over to the roof above the alleyway earlier on – said out loud from above them. The alleyway was empty anyway, so there was no need for him to communicate telepathically.

He jumped with his sword raised high above his head, and when he was right above the Oni – who was being restrained by Kugou's Tails, he swung his sword downwards in a flash. His attack had cut the Oni in halves, and he quickly jumped backwards to avoid the explosion that the Oni made when it was destroyed. He sighed silently in relief, just as Kugou landed beside him.

'Well done. No wonder you are my Master, Yoh-sama.' Kugou purred – yes, purred, even though she was a Fox and not a Cat – to him proudly, while affectionately rubbing her head to his side.

Yoh smiled at Kugou and patted her head. "You did a good job too, Kugou. As usual." He said fondly to the Fox, "If it's not for you, then I wouldn't have arrived here so soon".

Kugou was different from Yoh's other Shikigamis. She was actually a Ninetails Fox Youkai, who had lived in a forest in Kyoto for over a thousand years, but Yoh had to seal her away – into a Fox shaped Keychain that he had made himself – to protect her. Yoh could borrow her power by summoning her as a Shikigami, so they became great friends as the time passed by. Some time along the way though, Kugou adopted the habit of calling Yoh as her Master, and she would use honorific when she called his name. She still treated him as her friend of course, since they were friends first before anything else.

'I merely want to help you.' Kugou answered softly, 'Anyway, do you think you can go home by yourself? I want to go back to sleep'.

"Of course." Yoh answered with a nod while grinning, "Good night, Kugou".

Kugou replied by licking Yoh's face once before disappearing from view, leaving a Fox Keychain in her place. Yoh then picked up the Keychain and attached it into his belt under his coat. He smiled to himself and turned around to leave, but just as he was turning around, he saw a flash of light up in the sky far away from him. He raised an eyebrow in slight interest, while his hand moved to pull out his Monocular from his coat's pocket. He then looked at the direction again – to find out that the flash was about, only to gasp at what he was seeing.

Up there in the sky, a black winged figure was being attacked by many other white winged figures. He wasn't that surprised to see many people or something that looking like a person flying – because he had seen Kugou's half human form and she could fly as well, what surprised him was the fact that the black winged figure had just used a Skill of some sort to make many copies of themselves, and then the black winged figure and their copies flew scattered into all directions.

Wow, that's such a nice skill. Yoh thought in awe as he watched everything through his Monocular, before letting out another gasp when the black winged figure was suddenly falling from the sky. "Not good." He said in worry as he pulled out a Swallow shaped paper from his coat's pocket. "Tsubaki!" As soon as he called out, a big Swallow bird came out from the paper – it was another one of his Shikigamis. Yoh then climbed onto the bird, before the bird taking off flying towards the falling figure as fast as it could after a short command from Yoh.

Yoh caught the falling figure and immediately headed for an empty alley as fast as he could, just in case the white winged ones who were attacking the person – or something or whatever – in his arms from before were still around. Once they arrived, Yoh climbed down from his Shikigami and carried the black winged figure that he had caught with him, and his Tsubaki then returned into a paper. Yoh caught the paper and put it inside his pocket – in one among many secret pockets that his coat had – before turning to look at the being that he had saved from falling to death.

If before he was gasping in surprise – and then worry, now he was gaping in shock and disbelief. The reason? The boy whom he had caught had the same face as him! There were a few differences between them though. The boy's hair was longer and it reached his hips, it was also reddish dark brown in color – instead of just dark brown like his own. A pair of Pitch Black Bat-like wings were also adorning his back. The last difference between them was the boy's clothes, and it was the most noticeable one.

"What is this boy, exactly?" Yoh asked himself in confusion, once he got over the fact that the boy had the same face as him. "He's not an Oni and I don't feel any malice coming from him, even though he has a pair of Bat-like Wings." He then looked at the boy's clothes, and he was surprised once again to see normal looking clothes. He had thought that the boy would wear something that was like characters in the Manga or Anime, but instead he was wearing a red muscle shirt under a black cloak, a pair of black leather pants, and a pair of black leather boots.

His mind didn't really register that information though, because his eyes were soon glued to the boy's blood soaked form.

"This is bad." Yoh mumbled to himself as he pulled up the boy's muscle shirt – he could see a heavily burnt wound on the boy's chest, and a stabbed wound on the boy's left abdomen. "Such a wound, would I be able to help him before he died?" He thought quickly and pulled off the boy's cloak to tie it around the boy's abdomen. I will just bring him to my House first before worrying about it, since there's no way that I can take him to a Hospital.
