NOT CANON. THERE ARE SOME STUFF THAT DON'T WORK WITH THE REAL SHOW'S FACTS AND TIMELINES. AND STUFF.

Superstitious

Rory was superstitious.

Like when a black cat crossed Amy's path and immediately he scooped her up on his arms and ran home.

(He said it was because she didn't want her to fall and break her leg or something, to which she responded with "you're a nurse. You could nurse me back to health." And a flirty wink.

He spluttered and stammered and she shut him up with a kiss.)

It doesn't help that another time she walked under a ladder because people were fixing the lights in the entrance to the store. She tripped over a crack in the sidewalk and broke her wrist.

(Rory chastised her for walking under the ladder.

She chastised him on being too superstitious, she'd have tripped over the crack with or without the ladder.)

Amy remembers when he treated her to Chinese food in a little restaurant hidden away in Leadworth. They had gotten fortune cookies at the end of the meal and his read something that made his face go white and his hands clench.

"What? Did it predict your death?" Amy joked as she popped the cookie into her mouth and placed her fortune on the table.

Look for the reappearance of a long lost friend.

"What? No." He crumpled it up and stuffed it into his pocket, payed for the dinner and tugged Amy out of the restaurant.

Be warned, someone close to you will leave.

And who could forget the time she was having one of rages and in her anger, broke her bathroom mirror. She didn't have bad luck for seven years, but the skin on her knuckles had been cut.

She remembered standing there in silence, taking deep breaths as Rory cautiously walked towards her.

He inspected her hands, (mindful of the bleeding,) then hugged her tightly, burying his nose in her hair. (He was very mindful of his lips so close to her cheek.)

One day, his luck changed completely.

Literally.

He had been very fidgety, fiddling with something in his pocket and bouncing on the balls of his feet.

"Oi, stop fidgetin'." She said without looking up from the ground.

"What uh, what're you looking at?" He asked.

"There's a bunch of clovers here, I'm lookin' for a four leafed one." She answered before her face lit up. "Ooh!" Lightning fast, she had crouched down and plucked the clover.

"Here." She handed it to him. "Thought you'd like some good luck. You believe in this stuff."

He stared at her for a second before swallowing. "Thanks."

She turns, just to see if she can find another, and when she turns back he's down on one knee and looking as nervous as if he was facing a bunch of vampires. A beautiful ring sits in a box.

He can't get the first word out, (his tongue feels like it just swelled up,) so she takes pity on him and kisses him.

"Yes."

Maybe being superstitious wasn't that bad, so long as you believed in good luck as well as bad.
