Dancing bears
Painted wings Things I almost remember
Eleven year old Harry sat in his cupboard, tears silently running down his face. He had had another dream. A dream about his parents. The parents that he didn't know, yet his heart felt that he did. If he closed his eyes, he could almost picture his mother's smiling face. Yet, if he opened them, the image disapeared
And a song someone sings
Once upon a December
Lilly laughed as she spun Harry around. He gurgled happily. She stopped and looked at him. He had James' untidy black hair, and her green eyes.
Not a bad combination. He would be so handsome when he was older.
Harry yawned and snuggled into his mother's arms.
Lily walked over to the rocking chair.
Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
She began to sing their lulluby. And after a few moments, Harry fell asleep.
Lily looked out the window. Snowflakes were falling thickly in the black of the night, James should be home soon.
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory
In a few days it would be Harry's first Christmas. They were going to celebrate with Remus, Peter and Sirus.
It would be wonderful.
Someone holds me safe and warm
Horses prance through a silver storm
Harry opened his eyes. It all seemed so real. He couldn't picture his mother exactly, but he thought he could remember some things. Like her smile. And maybe her eyes.
Her face wasn't all that clear though, if only he could just see it for a moment...
Figures dancing gracefully
Across my memory
The Christmas tree was brilliant that year. The best they'd ever had. It glimmered like there was no tomorrow.
Far away, long ago
Glowing dim as an ember
They all sat around the tree. Lily, James, Sirius, Peter, Remus, and of course, little Harry.
Lily smiled as she opened a package from James. She gasped. It was a string of seawater pearls. They were so expensive! How could they ever...
Suddenly he was kissing her. She dropped the pearls and pulled him closer.
Things my heart
Used to know
"Ugh! Will you two get a room?" Sirius interupted
Lily pulled back from James.
Sirius handed her a package that read: 'To Harry, From Unky Sirius'
She laughed at the title.
"Open it!" Siruis urged her.
She did, and pulled out a small leather jacket.
"It's for when we go riding on my moterbike. He'll love it!"
Lily laughed. They all did.
Things it yearns to remember
And a song
The flow of tears came freely now. He didn't even know these people, yet he was having dreams of them. They must have loved him. Where were they now?
Someone sings
Once upon a December
Lily put Harry into bed that night, singing their lulluby.
"Well, I bet you liked that didn't you? That gift from Sirus was so thoughtful..."
James came up behind her and slid his arms about her waist.
"Is he sleeping?"
"Yes"
He grinned cheekily.
"Now we can have some time alone..."
Mmmm hear this song and remember...
Harry wiped his tears. Suddenly he felt at peace. They had loved him, but now they were gone. Still, his heart longed to see them again. To hug them and let them tell him that they loved him and everything was going to be fine.
"One day, we'll meet again" he whispered into the darkness, "Intil then, I love you"
Soon you'll be home with me
once upon a December
