Chris Sabin's POV
I hate watching this happen. Alex and Kevin are fighting again. Alex has tears in his eyes and he's screaming, his whole demeanor is frustrated. Kevin looks so angry. I wince as the larger man grabs Alex by the shoulders and shakes him. Hard.
Alex cries out in pain and wrenches his body away from Kevin. He turns and runs out of the room.
I just want to hold him. I just wish Alex would notice me. He's in so much pain.
Kevin growls under his breath and heads off after the young man. Poor Alex. He needs someone to help him. To hold him. To love him.
After my match, I see Alex, standing alone by the locker room door. His dark and light hair is covering his face, but his shaking shoulders betray his activity. He's crying.
He's going through so much. I wonder if he knows that I could be the one to hold him.
"Alex?"
His tearstained face tilts upward, hazel eyes watering. "Kev left without me. I don't have any way to get home now."
Aww, man, I feel so bad. His head falls again and he continues to sob. I reach my arm out to him, brushing a few strands of dark hair behind his ear. "Come here, man."
Alex looks at me, confused. "Wh-what?"
"Come here, Alex." I open my arms. "Let me hold you."
Alex still looks confused as he walks into my arms. I set one hand on the back of his neck and the other goes around his waist.
Alex nuzzles his face into my neck. He feels wet. It brings a frown to my lips that Kevin's hurting him so badly. "Why do you let him do it, 'Lex?"
Alex pulls his face awy from me for a moment. "Let him do what?"
I sigh and guide his head back to the crook of my neck. "Why do you let Kevin do all of this to you?"
Alex shrugs, unspeaking.
I gently rub his back. "Can you smile for me? I just want to see you smile."
Alex sighs into my neck and pulls away, forcing a smile onto his tearstained face.
"Alex..." I can feel tears forming in my own eyes. "I need to tell you something."
He hiccups. "What?"
"I just...I want to let you know that...I want to be yours. I've wanted to be with you for a long time now." I hold him tighter. "But I can wait. I'm ready when you're ready for me."
Alex looks shocked. "Chris?"
I blush, looking away. "Look, man, you don't have to say anything. I know you love Kevin."
Alex's arms wrap tightly around me, his face presses against my chest. "Chris, I...I think I've always been yours to hold."
My heart skips a beat. "What? What about Kevin?"
Alex shakes his head. "I can't. I can't keep being with him when all I can think about is you." He looks into my eyes. "I've been waiting a long time to tell you that."
I can't keep the smile off of my face. "Really?"
"Really." He yawns. I think the crying has tired him out. "Can we go back to the hotel?"
"Of course." I hold him more tightly. "I'm going to be the one to hold you."
