Title: His Crush
Disclaimer: I do not own Castle, ABC does. Poem used in this story is "Daffodils" and it belongs to William Wordsworth.
Author's Note: Getting my feet wet in seeing how I do with my first Castle fanfiction. Not based on any of the episodes just on my early observations from watching the show when it first premiered and a few episodes after that.
A/N 2: Regular italics is the poem; bold Italics is character thoughts and the letter.

After a long hard day and solving another case, Kate Beckett just wanted to go home and relax and not think about the impending paperwork that would be on her desk waiting to be filled out.
For a few hours everything was peaceful and quiet, just what Kate wanted. Following her soothing shower that all changed. While she was in her favorite reclining chair and she heard something being slid under the door.
What on earth could that be?
When she reached the door she saw a regular envelope with her name written in a fancy script.
It had no name of who dropped it off but Kate had an idea of who it could have been.
Opening the envelope and getting out three pieces of paper and she began to read.
Detective Beckett,
There is something I must tell you. I have been holding on to this for too long now. I have liked you for quite some time now and I wanted to show you in some way. However, with this I get nervous and am unable to compose any poetry so I searched the internet and found the poem that is included. Read and before finishing the letter.
Kate did and read the poem as she walked back to her recliner.
"Daffodils" by William Wordsworth
I wandered lonely as a cloud
That floats on high o'er vales and hills,
When all at once I saw a crowd,
A host, of golden daffodils;
Beside the lake, beneath the trees,
Fluttering and dancing in the breeze.
Continuous as the stars that shine
And twinkle on the milky way,
They stretched in never-ending line
Along the margin of a bay:
Ten thousand saw I at a glance,
Tossing their heads in sprightly dance.
The waves beside them danced, but they
Out-did the sparkling leaves in glee;
A poet could not be but gay,
In such a jocund company!
I gazed—and gazed—but little thought
What wealth the show to me had brought:
For oft, when on my couch I lie
In vacant or in pensive mood,
They flash upon that inward eye
Which is the bliss of solitude;
And then my heart with pleasure fills,
And dances with the daffodils.
After reading the first time she read it several more times and smiled as she read the last page.
I hope this you can see where I am coming from. I know you will probably think I am an idiot but I really do feel this way.
I guess I will see you when our next case calls.
Sincerely,
Richard Castle
She smiled as she read the letter and the poem again.
Then on impulse she made a call.
"Hello? Richard?"
A/N 3: Thanks for reading "His Crush". Reviews are appreciated as it helps feeds my muse, but please be nice as it is my first Castle fanfic.
