Elenette sealed the envelope with her peweter stamper. She hoped that no one would fing this letter until she had passed on or was already in the west. IN this envelope she had placed her biggest secret of her past. One that no one except her. Not even her own husband knew. She thought about never telling anyone but she thought her husband and children should know one day. It was mostly written for her oldest child. His name was Elarin. He was now 13. He looked just like his father did at that age and it took her off guard a lot of times because it was like looking into Legolas's own eyes. No she was not married to Legolas she was married to Haldir. How did Legolas come up? Well I'll tell you. The reason that this letter was for Elarin and mostly Elarin only is because it concerned him and his future. It also contained a key to a trunk that held her most precious secrets.

Theres a key in a letter

Unopened

Buried back in an old dresser drawer

Theres a name stained with tears on that letter

one that i'm sure i've never seen before

The letter was written about the love that she had given up for someone who could take better care of her. An elf who was better known among the elves of Rivendell. He was nice and smart and he was the leader of Elrond's army. However no matter how hard she tried to care about him and love him the same way that she did Legolas, it never came. Deep down she knew that no one could ever replace Legolas. But it was after things between her and Legolas ended that something she had not thought possible happened.

It was a few weeks before she was to marry Haldir when she found out that she was pregnant with Legolas's child. She fought herself for days trying to decide what to do about this unexpected surprise. She knew that she would not give this child up but it killed her inside that she could not tell Legolas, because if she did it would start a war between Mirkwood and Rivendell. Something that she did not want to be in the middle of. She decided after that not to tell anyone. Not even Haldir. So when she married Haldir she kept her mouth shut and performed her wifely duties and eventually said that she was to have Haldirs child. She hoped that by writing this letter telling Elarin about her past that maybe he would go in search of his real father once she was gone.

Authors note: so what do you think? want me to finish? Thank you for the reviews. I feel so loved. I'm usually very shy and quiet about who I let read my stories because I know some people think they're stupid but this is something I love to do. Yeah I know I forgot the disclaimer...so here goes I don't own Legolas or Haldir or any other characters I use from lord of the rings but i do own Elarin and Elenette and anyone else that is not from LOTR.
